I stayed up late going over this. There's so much that can be done, but being a card to wallet junkie, I'm concentrating on this. I got the wallet set up ( once you read everything and understand it, it takles about 10 minutes ( I bet everyone else will do it quicker ) and did it in the mirror just now. It's like an optical illusion and you'll fool yourself. I'm going to work on it all weekend and Sunday night use it in performance and then report back.
I realize I have not tried it on lay people, but I'm loving this. No one, is ever going to want to see the wallet. I think I'll put business cards in it. It seems a natural for that.

I just received mine today and I'm eagerly looking forward to putting it to use. I have an engagement next week and I'll be sure to have my handling honed by then. Thanks Tony!

OK, here we go. Anyone that has ever performed Sankey’s Paper Clipped or Kennedy’s Mystery Box, knows how powerful the reactions can be.
What I don’t like about Paper Clipped ( I do it, but have a problem with it ) is the ditch to then pocket. Yes, if performed properly, it goes by them. I just don’t care for that. As a matter of fact, I don’t ditch it. I hold it out. I think it looks better. The Mystery Box is wonderful and the new version in 3D is a giant improvement. It can be a little bulky if pocket management is a concern. So, now here comes the Anything Wallet. I love card to wallet, so that’s what I use it for. It’s not limited to that, but that’s what I’ll use it for. You can put business card sin it, so it’s a natural prop, that I feel goes above suspicion. I won’t get into specific patter as I’m sure everyone will have there own to use. I have the wallet closed and in my shirt pocket. I take it out, show it open and it only shows business cards. I don’t draw attention to that, because audiences are smart and observant. They get it. I place it open , face down on the table. I have a card selected, signed, returned to the deck. I waste no time. I think, in these type of effects, the longer we take to make the revelation, the more conceivable it is to our audience that we could have had the time to make it happen, So it’s a trick, instead of a miracle. I spread the deck face up and say you’re card is gone. I then pick up the wallet and turn it over and there in plain sight is a folded card. A little flick of the wrist and the card is dumped in to my other hand. Because of the way this wallet works, when you flick your wrist, the wallet is shown empty. I do it as a dumping motion, so the card seems to bounce off my hand and onto the table. I let them pick it up and open and see it’s their card. I stand their, with the wallet open showing only business cards. I love this effect. The reset happens during performance, so it’s idea for table hopping or strolling. The reactions are what I hoped for: they are shocked. Doomo has given me another idea for it that is so clever, I can’t wait to get started on it. Chris

Got my Anything Wallet today so here are my initial thoughts:
Really like the mechanics of this. A lot of thought has clearly gone into it. The fact that this is a packet trick type of wallet is a good thing. It is far too simple and basic in appearance to be anything more than what it appears. There is absolutely no reason to suspect it. Compare this with everyday wallets where it is conceivable that there might be something a little bit special about it. In truth, there is nothing here than can't be achieved with a Himber. But if you really want the heat off your wallet I would recommend an Anything Wallet. So here's what does bug me. The static nature of vinyl means it does attract a lot of dust and muck. That's about it! I will definitely use this. |

As someone else PM'd me, one of the cool things (which I had not thought of) was to treat the Anything Wallet as the innermost of a Mullica type wallet! Remove your regular billfold. remove the Anything wallet. Inside is the card, coin, house-key, etc. A different philosophy which I must admit, I have taken to using. All in all a very good idea, which I pass along to you.

Finally had a chance to play with The Anything Wallet. Very clever indeed.
Will appeal to those of us who perform walk around magic. Resets instantly and takes up little pocket space. For the mentalists among us (myself inclusive), this is a great prop for the prediction in wallet type effects. Recommended! |

Curious how well this works with a NW. I've read the description at hanklee for a NW effect but can anyone give a detailed description of how well the two work together?

Can't get mine to stay folded on the table without creasing the gimmick.
Creasing the gimmick makes the prop harder to operate. Overpriced in my opinion. |

Thank you, Magicchris, for the respect of my opinion and, of course, everyone's opinion, good or bad, deserves the same. I am glad that many ARE happy with it and that you were able to make a suggestion that might help Sooty find his Wallet more to his liking. Hope everyone has a great 2006.
