Magic IS my day job. It is also my night job, and has been for the past 17 years. (26 years in the art.) However sometimes I take a vacation in the summer so I do not go totally insane.

I'm the head staging technician for a performing arts centre.
It's not really a 'day' job, it tends to be an all day and all night job.

We haven't had any magicians perform in the venues here...yet.

I have also worked as a waitress (duh), sales (from vintage clothing to toys and magic), desk clerk, secretary, animal and baby sitter, wildlife rehabilitator, and even as an inn ghost. I tried telemarketing for the Baltimore Sympony Opera and lasted a whole day.
As soon as I get back from this crap shoot of a gig I signed up for, I'm going to look for a day or night job. God knows what I'll try this time.

I said WOW....that sounds llike the job for me!

I own a video production company. I perform infrequently as I actually prefer being behind the scenes. I also freelance as a pen & ink illustrator and writer because I have decided to limit the production company to magic and personal projects. I have also been teaching Shaolin gungfu for almost 15 years.

Up until last October I was a service technician for SLME the company that manufactures Crate guitar amps and Ampeg bass amps. I specialized in antique equipment (Ampeg invented bass amplification, so they have a bit of history) and artist relation repairs. After leaving SLME, I was freelancing at this, too, until last week when I decided to sell my gear and get out of the business; I am spread too thin!
