Thanks to everyone for your kind words. I must appologize to some of you for the long order-to-receipt ratio recently. I moved down to southern Florida in August, and was hit hard by Wilma. My internet connection and Paypal notifications were a problem for quite some time, but are now (thankfully) resolved
I'm glad that my material has been helpful for you. I've always liked the gaff and have always noticed that there was a lack of instructional material available for it... Dave Neighbors awesome contributions were about the only thing, aside from Goshman's own Sun and Moon routine that were available for a very long time. So I decided to add my humble two cents to the cause. I am working on a third and final Tavern Magic installment... to be released soon I hope. It focuses on another staple in my little black bag, an "expanded" copper, silver, & shell set that I came up with over the years with the help of Todd Lassen and Jamie Schoolcraft (remember that little Japanese coin Jamie? I didn't forget (thanks guys). I hope volume 3 provides as much or more inspiration as volumes 1 & 2 have. Again, thanks to everyone. It makes me feel very good to know that my contributions, however humble, were helpful in some way. And there just may be a DVD in the works some day Best to all, Mike |

Hey Mike,
Just wondering if bits and pieces of your Tavern Magic series will ever wind-up in a dvd? If so, I'm sure a lot of people would want to have it as a companion to your ebooks or a stand-alone instructional video on some pretty nice tricks and routines. Thanks Mike. -bd

I've worked on some stand-alone videos for several of the effects from volumes 1 & 2 to release, or to possibly compile into a DVD, but my recent move, the storm, and my subsequent massive data loss have severly set me back. Let me tell you something about backing up your hard drives and about surge protection... they're both very good things
Todd Diamond and I, as well as Howard Baltus from the Trickery have talked about doing a DVD for over a year now, but trying to align all of our schedules, get together (Todd's in LV, Howard's in NJ, and I'm in FL), and actually doing it is proving to be a challenge to say the least. All I can say for now is... I hope we can do something one of these days ** If you're reading this Howard, Thank Bob for the "Molten Metal" routine for me, and I will review it ASAP... it's great! Nico and I did it at a show a few weeks ago (with a tweak or two) and totally blew the croud away. Best, Mike |

Hi Everyone
I also reccomend the Roger Klause effect with the Sun and Moon set.His current routine uses a modified "Sun and Moon" set. The routine is very deceptive, and requires minimal handling. Best Regards Dudley Allyn Tucker |

I'm amazed to see that one of the nicer handlings for this set of coins has yet to be mentioned. The late Fred Kaps issued, thru Ken Brooke, a set of lecture notes that included his handling of a classic "Copper/Silver Transposition" using the "Sun and Moon" gaff. I have done it for years using the Eddie Gibson set, made with a Half Crown and Penny - quite nice...

I still don't understand the difference between a normal sun and moon set
and the Klause required version. Thanks! Posted: Nov 27, 2005 12:41pm Forget it. I understand.

Mike,
I totally agree with Peo (thanks Peo, for the recommendation!). I received my copy of TM2 last night, printed it out and got right to work. I love it! I'll go back (when I'm done) and get TM volume 1 while I'm waiting for the arrival of volume 3. Thanks again! |

I've never seen those notes Paul, although I'd love to. The only Fred Kaps notes via Ken Brooke that I have are the ones related to the jumbo Chinese coin routine... which is a super cool routine by the way. Thanks Peo & Magiguy, I will let you know when vol. 3 makes it way completely out of my head, off of my desk, and onto a PDF Best to all, Mike |

After reading the strong recommendations for Mike's Tavern Magic 2, I ordered a copy from sundragonmagic.com. However it has been almost 3 weeks and no reply. Does anyone know if Mike is on the road or out of pocket? I have really been looking forward to sitting down at the kitchen table and exploring the routines.
