Thought it might be a good idea to start fresh now that the DVD has shipped and people are receiving it.

Best impromptu trick that I've ever purchased. And it beats most of the non-impromtu ones too!

Here are my thoughts:
1) The trick is awesome. One of, if not the, best improptu tricks ever invented; 2) Wayne is fabulous. His handling blows Chris' out of the water by a long shot; 3) Chris was as useless on this dvd as Ammar was on the Doc Eason videos. Wayne was the star and should have made this dvd by himself; 4) Chris' explanation for why he released this dvd knowing that the general public would be able to get it easily was as lame as most of his stunts on Mindfreak; 5) Hearing Chris talk about how he made the handling his own was comical. Even Wayne was speechless. Chris' handling was nowhere near as convincing as Wayne's, and by "making it my own" Chris really means "I just chose not to do the hard parts." 6) The interview was way too long. Bottom line (for me anyway), Wayne was fabulous and should have released this dvd on his own and kept all the profits to himself. |

Sinful sinful sinful.
There. Just put that there so folks can find this thread by searching for the word errrr sinful. All this patience I've had waiting. And I still have to wait for it to get from Hocus Pocus to the UK. Hmm. Hope it can be done with UK currency. I didn't think to ask. |

Which might have been better. I also got a newsletter that he will be bringing more stuff out. just keep watching his site. I thought he was a good performer from what I have seen. But I do agree that way to much hype was done for this great effect because t was endorsed by Angel. Stil waiting on mine though. LOL

Can't a review thread be for reviews, and not full of speculation and "I'm waiting to get mine" comments?
Review: I've been involved in magic for over 40 years. This routine is one of the great impromptu tricks of all times. The effect is exactly as advertised. A spectator marks his or her own quarter with a Sharpie. You borrow (or get from a vending machine) an unopened Coke can. You put the quarter in your flat open palm and smack it against the bottom the can. The spectators hear the coin enter the can. You slowly take your hand away. The quarter is gone. You cleanly show the Coke and your hands all around. The quarter is gone. You shake the can. Spectators hear the quarter inside. You slowly and cleanly open the pop top on the can and pour out the soda. You cleanly hand the empty can to the spectator. Their marked coin is inside the can. Period. You can leave them with the can to remove the quarter later. It's that clean. It's that good. The M.O. is brilliant in its simplicity. Once you've practiced this (and please do, please do!) you will floor everyone. The DVD is extremely well produced and way underpriced. Forget about whether you like Criss and/or his handling tips (one of them is very good, BTW). Forget about the "extras." You are buying a great trick that you will love to do. Congratulations, Wayne. You deserve all the plaudits coming your way. Only downside: it's such a good trick that everyone will be doing it. I can't wait to do it in 10 years when everyone will have forgotten about it. Bob |

What more needs to be said? I just got this dvd yesterday and the method is ingenious. This is one of the best impromptu miracles I've seen this year. Thanks to Wayne for releasing such a wonderful effect.

The highlight of the dvd is by far Wayne's ultra free handling of the can. Even when he explains what he is doing, it is still very easy to get fooled. His subleties for spinning and flipping the can are pure genius.
As for how many Wayne would have sold without Chris' help, that's open for debate. I think he would have sold just as many if he had gone the normal demo video route on Hocus or Hank Lee. Think about it, most of us bought it after seeing Wayne do it, not Chris. And I'm sure several people put off buying it simply because it was done on tv and is available to the general public. The thing that bothered me the most about the dvd was Chris' explanation of why this dvd was released to the public. Basically it boils down to Chris saying that magicians shouldn't be so secretive. What!!!?? Isn't that why we are all magicians in teh first place...to do things 99.9% of the population thinks is impossible. If you want to get the public more involved in magic, fine but don't let your medium be a trick that was someone elses pet creation that they have been making a living with for years. Lame. Am I a fan of Chris'? No way. Am I a fan of WAYNE's trick? Absolutely. Fantastic trick. Michael: We'll have fun practicing this at lunch. I"ll bring a case of beer and I'm sure the Caucus Room won't mind if we make a huge mess and get plastered in the process. |

Im contemplating whether or not to cancel my order from the criss angel store and just order it from hocus pocus. I didn't receive a confirmation email from criss' site which doesn't make sense considering THEY were the ones to release it. Oh well.
Did anyone get theirs from Criss Angels site and received it by now? |

I've always ordered from Hocus Pocus and they have been nothing but good for me. When I ordered my ETMMM by Osterlind, one disc was completely scratched because the little middle thing that hold the disc broke off and in the process of shipping the disc got destroyed. They were nice enough to ship one out to me a.s.a.p.
I never ordered from Penguin but Hocus Pocus seems to be above par with shipping and service. I have ordered there many times as well. Back to this topic though, I just cant wait any longer and it seems as though I'm not going to receive it any time shortly. that's why I was inquiring if anyone recieved it from the Criss Angel store yet. |

I have a question
I hope I don't tip the method, cuz I honestly don't have a clue as to how he does it, but can it be done with any can? cuz I noticed in the demo video the can has a wide drinkin hole, most cans in my country have a normal size hole to drink from, and thus if it is not possible with those cas would make the trick pretty useless for me cuz it wouldn't be impromptu anymore. so the question can it be done with ANY can??? |
