Any of you who where members of my JaxonMagic notes forum will know of this trick. It was one of the most talked about tricks in those notes other then my Outsmokin.

I just released it again with much better instructions (over 35 images) and it's now a PDF E-book. I've had a few people ask if I could turn it into an E-book so I finally got around to getting it done. You can go to my site to check it out (Link in my signature).

I use this quite often in my walk around work because it uses objects we see on just about every table. So all you need is your deck and a napkin. I usually perform it along with a card under napkin routine.

Great! I can't wait to read what you think of it.

Just a funny little story that happened when I was making this E-book that kind of demonstrates the reaction this trick can get. I had my girlfriend take some of the pictures for me that I used in the instructions. Basically all the images that show both my hands so I needed someone else to work the camera as I went though it. This can be kind of boring work to someone who isn't into it so I'm thankful that she took the time to do it.

Anyway, I went thought the trick in slow motion. Stopping and saying, "Okay, take a picture of this... Now this... Another one at this angle.. etc...." When I got to the point where I turn the wrapped card over to show that it changed she gave it a double take and almost dropped the camera. lol

I had never shown her the trick before that so this was the first time she had seen it performed. The funny thing was she saw it step by step and it still shocked her.

I'm not being big headed or anything but this is a good trick. Especially if you do it in the spectators hands. It's fun to watch them open the napkin to get a better look at the card. Sometimes they rip it out.

One more little thing I do with this trick. Since I'm using a napkin I sometimes make it into a napkin rose and give it to them along with their card. If you have any of Michael Mode's napkins roses from napkinrose.com. You can use the switch in my BAR TAB E-book to turn the white one into the colored one then give it to them.

I have seen this performed on a couple of occasions. I purchased the E-book and it is an outstanding effect and easy to do. The gimmicks are easy to construct and cost very little to make. There are so many veriations that could be used with this concept, with just a little thought. I would say it is well worth a look into if you like the sound of the effect.

I don't own this one, but Ron has shown it to me and he never ceases to amaze me with his thinking. He always finds simple ways to do amazing magic.

Keep it up Ron!!

Jaxon says: So all you need is your deck and a napkin

But Ragman later says: The gimmicks are easy to construct and cost very little to make.

So does this trick use gimmicks or are the requirements just a deck and a napkin?

The E-book shows how to make a gimmick. Get the gimmick on the deck and you're ready to perform. The deck is normal. I show two different ways to make the gimmick. Get this gimmick on the normal deck of cards you perform with. Grab a paper napkin and your're ready to perform. You'll probably have everything you need to make it in your house.

So sorry about the confusion. It's a gimmick that you add to the deck. You don't need a special deck of cards or napkin.

Review!

Originallity - 10!
Never seen something like this before

Clean up - 8
Not impromptu...but easy to ditch the gimmick if needed

Practice - 10
Not much at all...its basically all in the performance. If you do it in a second, the trick is nothing. But no fancy moves are needed to perform it

Set up - 10
All you need is your cards and some household items. Takes 10 mins to create gimmick max!

Reactions - N/A
It really depends on your presentation. This trick is not a trick that automatically gets reactions...make it get reactions!

Overall - 9.5

GREAT WORK RON

Thanks so much for sharing your review baskitboy5. I'm so glad you like it.

I urge anyone who picks it up to make the second gimmick in the instructions sometimes. It's great because you can use it to turn any card into a wrapped gimmick. In other words. You don't have to force anything. The two selections can be absolutely free choices with that version and they can also both be signed. I know it takes a little more work that one then the first gimmick I show how to make. Although even the second gimmick isn't really harder to make. If you perform the trick very often then the second gimmick will be worth your time to make up.

Thanks again everyone.

Yup, I'm gonna have to get this one before Thanksgiving holidays. From the mind of Jaxon, I know it's 100% unique and innovative. Thanks, Jaxon, for sharing your magical and creative mind.

I was just playing around with another version of this trick. The trick is actually the same but it's done with Saran wrap (plastic wrap). It's not quite as useful in walk around situations unless you carry your own saran wrap with you but the effect is kind of neat this way. It's like you are wrapping the card to preserve it. Make up your own reasons to do this but I just thought I'd share this sleight variation.

I might have to get this. I've been working on a trick that involves wrapping a card in a piece of tin foil that only covers the middle of the card. The card then transposes with a signed selection. Curious if I stumbled upon a similar method.

Let us know if you get the effect worked out with cards and tin foil. I don't know what your effect is but I remember reading something on one of Paul Harris's "Art of astonishment" books about an effect with tin foil and a coin. Where you'd turn the impression of a coin on the foil into another coin or turn the heads into tails. I just thought I'd mention that in case it might be able to fit into your routine.

I doubt it's the same as "Wrapped" though because the effect of this trick relies on the fact that they can see through the napkin so they know what card is wrapped inside. Then when you're able to make the card/s change into another then it's a pretty visual moment.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the encouragement. The card in tin-foil plot still needs some fleshing out. But as soon as I get more cash-ola, I am definitely going to purchase Wrapped. Sounds intriguing.
