Just don't do the routine until the end of the show. You cannot follow it with anything. Once you've directly read the minds of the audience and answered their questions, nothing can compete.

I know I said it twice, but it is that important.

Why can't you follow it up?

I was thinking perhaps the snippit/newpaper headline predictionto close.

Is the close on this routine really a grabber?

It's just that I've closed with the newpaper routines, it tends to leave them wanting more.
Good Thoughts.

Thanks gentlemen - I shall go and get a ton of Osterlind goodies Smile...

Hmm... my usual closer is a variation of Becker's Casino Royale... I'll have to watch Richard O on video to see how he does his Q&A...!

I don't recall whose interview on Conversations With Mindreaders it was (it may have been RO's for all I know) but one of the pros said they saw Kreskin two nights in a row. The first night he ended with Q & A and killed. The second night he OPENED with Q & A and killed.

In RO's recent ebook, he discusses his reasoning for doing the magazine prediction as his closer AFTER Thoughtscan (his Q & A), followed by the linking finger rings as an "encore." Check the first Mind Mysteries DVD to see his act performed in the order described which is the order RO says is SOP.

Food for thought.

I have to agree that where a piece goes depends on two things...the performer's taste, and what he/she is doing in the rest of the show. I have Craig Karges' video in which he opens the show with Q&A. When I saw him live two weeks ago, it went much further down in the show. I think it's all in how you present it and how strong the rest of your show is.
