Hot Leads by Jim Pace (The New and Improved Afterburn by Jim Pace)
I am planning to purchase a card/business card on fire effect. How is this one compare to the old one(Afterburn by Jim Pace) or other card/business card on fire effect? Any other recommandation(s)? Thanks a bunch in advance!

From what I understand the old one(dont have) used flash cotten/flint as a method for igniting so obviously reseting was a pain.
The new one has no major reset, and you can set many cards at once and then hand them out rapid fire as you wish, pretty nifty. |

I wouldn't recommend using a playing card due to the coating.
A) it will burn nasty b) I don't think it will absorb the necessary stuff - lighter fluid Hot Leads was designed for plain stock

You can use cheap papper cards with no coat.
As Mystician said a good quality card will be a problem. |

So that means I have to use bad quality cards/poker cards/business cards?

I did mot want this to get ugly.
Mystician said "Hot Leads was designed for plain stock" That is what you use, Plain or standard business card stock. Do not use plastic, Foil, or laminated cards. Anything else is a go. Jim

The newer one is the better one.
I have had them both, and far prefer the Hot Leads, which I still have. Afterburn was a good idea, nicely executed, but Hot leads is a better idea, very well done. And it has features like no reload to light, and a longer lifetime of fresh fuel. BroDavid

"Can I lite up poker cards?"
??? Asked and answered. You need to use an PORUS piece of fiber(plain card stock, regular paper, ect). Anything shiny(sealed), plastic, wax coated, ect will not work because they cannot absorb the fuel, however full color buisness cards will work as long as its only ONE SIDE and the other side is PORUS and will accept the fuel. clear? |

I might add, be careful with the full color business cards. I had some that were actually printed on photographic paper, not something you want fire around. Unless, maybe is the fiber paper, but most photo paper has a rosin added into it.

There are many types of porous paper that has been pressed under so many tonnage that the surface will appear shiny. Think about a freshly minted currency note. Just an idea.
