Seems to me something like Rocky III. I mean, Rocky was the champ, but you can't expect me to believe that he could actually defeat Clubber Lang (Mr. T). He was clearly outmatched and arguably outwitted. Yes, yes, it seems to me exactly the same as Rocky III.

Hey let them challenge the *$^^ out of each other it'll be fun to watch, besides, I believe it's more propaganda than anything. And I also believe we should support those in our field unless they are doing something to jeopardize it.

It's just a publicity stunt. I guess it'll be good for escapology so long as it doesn't turn into a third grade shouting contest or brawl. If it does the magic community can disown both of them.
