Just bought Infusion. Downloading it as I type.
The effect looks awesome. You take a ring or a coin which is borrowed and slam it through a bottle or a glass. Simple and straight forward.

Finished watching it. It's outstanding.
I've tried it a couple of times infront of the mirror. I'm still baffled even when knowing the secret. The video running time is 15 minutes. The teaching is great. Brad goes over some very important parts in making this illusion look its best. Whats so great is, you don't have to bring any thing. At a party you just borrow a glass or a bottle and a coin or a ring and just do it. The coin can even be signed. There are no gimmicks involved. This is not a very difficult effect to pull off. But it requiers practise to make the illusions of the penetration perfect. Im gonna watch the video again to pick up some more pointers. Go buy it.

That's old. There's a vid of some one doing exactly this from atleast a year ago on MVD. Still good effect, but oh E, what can I say?

I won't forget you Robert. |

The guy on MVD was Geir himself. The guy who released this effect.

Just wanted to tell anyone just looking at the thread not to get the name infusion confused with Mayne's Infusion. Different effects/same names

Am I the only one who thinks this looks like Williamson's Striking Vanish, but with a glass instead of a wand/stick/pen? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Lol I remember like a year or whatever ago when he first was showing this, I remember he was saying he broke a couple glasses due to the speed at which the coin hits the glass or whatever.... I wonder how prevalent that is going to be with a bunch of ellusionist kids smacking around half dollars with glasses from around the house... lol

This is sooo old. Someone showed me this along time ago. It is very very good, but
this method has been around along time. I'm amazed you guys have never seen this. He does it extremly well in the video. Tip: practice with a plastic tumbler. |

Glad to see I'm no the only person who thought this looked blatantly obvious how it was done. My brother who knows nothing about magic saw and said the exact same thing I did about it

Well, I will give credits and appreciation to Geir for doing it so well (yes it came to me from the old video over at MVD a year ago), but for his decision for releasing through E and let them get their hands on the product......Sigh. I need not explain the consequences.
At least, it made me refrain from buying it.....I do not want to have my money ending up being a support to E. I would LOVE to buy it directly from Geir himself though. |

How about you explain the consequences as you see them so you can enlighten the rest of us?

Well..look what happened to the 'rareness' of tigers.
look at the kids in the internet filming poor demonstrations of the revolution, the king rising, etc. Just like when something is over marketed without carefully choosing a SUITABLE target group? It's like releasing gems to wannabes--The wannabes won't get it, and the gems get screwed up. I think these people have a very bad marketing responsibility. I believe as part of this artform community, you have the responsibility to regulate your influence, and whatever actions you do in altering the concept of another person in the community. Just because you can't do much to help preventing the flaws in doing sth, it doesn't mean that it is right for you to keep doing it. Everyone knows over-commercialising an art means damaging it. and it is undeniable that they encourage unhealthy concepts for the sake of profits....(1. stirring the trend of chasing after cards of cool designs for magic...which is not necessary in the magic community before? so till now who has got a better image of being a magician and/or won any competition because of the cards element? 2. over reinforcing the fact that magic = to be cool = to be similar to dark, voodoo style....etc. that is limiting the image of magic, and at the same time causing misconceptions to the innocent new comers.) I don't want to say this in such clear and eleborated context, because it will probably be deleted by the mods (since you are not supposed to give rationales and discussion over the actions of a certain magic dealer in the Café). Like I DON'T WANT TO TELL YOU...LOL |
