There are more videos of kids performing poor magic tricks on the internet than there will ever be of them performing King Rising. You blame Ellusionist for their actions? I would hardly think that is fair. That's like blaming Shoot Ogawa for someone performing Ninja Rings poorly.
Its like blaming the creator of an illusion, because the guy who purchased it didn't take the time to rehearse properly. Ellusionist, (and every other magic store online) sells for two purposes. They like magic, and want to share that with other people, and to make money. Any magic store owner that says they're only in it for the love of magic, is full of it, because they'll soon find out that love doesn't pay the bills. Regarding other thoughts.. well.. I certainly can't blame you for your opinion, after all it is yours, but I do feel that you've not properly educated yourself regarding E, you've only taken what you've heard about them in the past, and have decided that it's enough. Although I don't think this is worth the money, he does it very well. If the teaching is in-depth and clear, this may be a good source for the "move".

I am very pleased that it is completely impromptu. In my opinion this is the best thing to do before wayne houchins sinful effect. This is because the methods are entirely different and your setting them up very well with this effect. ratings- TEACHING- 10- nothing more needed to be taught and it was very clear EASE OF USE- 10- I was doing this the first time I tried it. Takes some practice. PRACTICALITY-10- Use this anytime, anywhere IMPROMPTU Nuff said this is a 10 and I was happy to pay the money for it.

Glad you like it, Mark. I didn't want to come off too harsh, seeing as how I don't have it.

The thing is,in Michael Weber's book "Lifesavers" he teaches a routine that is the same method. He uses a bottle. He also gives you a whole routine that is killer. That book is about $25. Oh wait, it's not "instant download" Oh well, forget it then.

I just watched the demo, and yes, it does look pretty good. But I also remember reading about this exact effect recently, I believe in one of the Art of Closeup books.
If the method is the same (which I'm sure it is), then I would be VERY hesitant to do this effect with a borrowed ring - “Here is your ring back ma'am...and here are the stones! Thanks for watching!”

I just watched the demo at Ellusionist, and... I don't know... Although it looks amazing the way this guy does it, I don't know if I would attempt this... I think it might be too obvious, even for lay people. I overuse Dave Williamson's striking vanish, thus making this little trick easier...

OK guys, little update here: I've just done that to my wife, and her answer was: "wow! You must have a second coin somewhere right?!"...
Therefore, it might fool lay people... and my wife knows a bit about magic... I'll try it out tomorrow... Just have to find some guinea pigs. Phedon

This does fool laypeople, however I reccomend "routining" it and not doing it just as a stand alone. I perform the penetration and have the spectator take the coin out of the glass, then use it to perform SLAM. It's fun to watch their sense of reality fade away.
I'm sure there are even better ways to routine it then that, but this does work. |

Why "please people"??? If you cannot make a connection between the striking vanish and the move here, then you don't know what's the striking vanish.

OR... Other possibility: I came up with a NEW way of accomplishing this effect!
