I've heard nothing.I even pestered a few of the reviewers [sorry guy's!] with PM's.I thought that if they were lucky enough to get free copies they might know if Mr.Cavalli had changed his plans regarding his 'Sigma' release. So Lord [of the Horses] if you are reading this please post some news.

I promised Paolo a while back that I'd post a review of the e-book...unfortunately I just haven't had the time to put it together. That being said, I may hold off on a full length review until Paolo is back filling out orders.
I will say this - Paolo is one of the few authors out there that I would reccomend picking up the work of sight unseen. All of the ideas are solid and practical, and they work wonders. I've performed several effects from all 3 of his e-books to great responses. I haven't heard from Paolo in a few months now, but he did have a previous absent period several months back. Paolo, if you're reading this, I hope your health is well and we see you back here soon. Zach |

SIGMA is a fantastic book...as a "full time / real world" performer...it gets my highest recommendation! It is filled with TONS or great "workers". His ending for "chairvelopes" is VERY VERY VERY clever...I will definitely be using this in my show...

I just received an email from Paolo. He said that "Sigma" is being updated, and that three more effects will be added to the final version of the e-book.

Ok, finally a simple link page with the cart for all of my books is online!
http://www.sensitivo.org/paolocavalli.htm The guy helping me has an European Paypal account and the prices are in Euro currency just of ease of rate exchange to him. Also, we added some GREAT stuff to SIGMA and we wanted to add even more but, finally, me and my co-author decided that some thing should have stayed out for the time being because it really was too much stuff… However, the 50 people who will buy SIGMA will get, as promised, the “Getting A-Head – Naughty Cover” booklet and my “Out Of Body Dual Reality Script” which are not sold but just given away for free, as a further bonus from me to you. The other books are THE WATERMARK CODEX and CON-FEDERACY. The former deals with an invisible way to mark envelopes for anything ranging from Annemann’s Psychometry to what have you… The latter deals with the use of psychological techniques and of confederates… Please keep in mind that the zipped packages are of an average size of 3 to 4 MB! ALL OF THE E-BOOKS WILL BE SENT TO YOU WITHIN 24 HOURS FROM YOUR ORDER!
Then you'll rise right before my eyes, on wings that fill the sky, like a phoenix rising!

Got mine with Bonus included! Thanks Paolo!
What I can tell you about this material? Great, Great, Great. For the moment I can't go in detail but believe me, each routine is a real jewel. It's easy to read and understand. After a quick read, it's difficult to have a favorite routine, all of them are! This is a must have book for any serious mentalist. Now I need to go to a Show and later read it in detail. Cheers! |

I received my copy of Sigma last night and read it today.
Coinport. A spectator selects one of three imaginary coins (say it's a Swiss franc). Through your force of thought, you cause the coin to materialize in your hand! After the spectator examines the coin, you have her hold it in her closed fist. You then have the participant select a card from an ESP deck, and cause the selected symbol to appear on the coin! Coinport got my attention immediately. The techniques involved aren't difficult, but the effect does take a certain amount of juevos to pull off. If you want to work strong and give your audience a jot, Coinport's the way to start. E-Wave. A verbal version of Phil Goldstein's B-Wave. Just practicing this effect will improve your audience management skills...and the payoff is terrific. C.K.C. Planet Earth. This effect is a mentalist's version of Out of this World, where you predict how the cards will be distributed. In my opinion, Cavalli's twist in the prediction adds a great deal of interest. If you're willing to do mentalism with cards (and in this case the cards' color is all that matters), you'll enjoy this routine. Corinda 2005 Outdone! and Any Card, Any Number both rely on the E.C.P. Principle, which is a very workable way to have someone not in the theater reveal a selected card (or whatever else, for that matter). Shades of Mind Another effect that relies on your audience-reading skills and a technique every serious performer should have in their arsenal. The individual elements of this routine aren't difficult, but you can learn a lot from the routining. A Penny for Your Thoughts This effect is a streamlined variation of Banachek's chair prediction Be Seated and is far, far superior to the similar chair routine Marc Spelmann released on his DVD set. Beer-It Twice. An audience member selects a brand of beer, and then selects which of a three bags that brand is under. What's more, you crush the other two bags flat to prove they're empty! I have to admit that this effect is my favorite in SIGMA, mostly because of its simplicity. You could perform this trick in a mentalism stage show, or do it in a standard magic show (especially if the theater serves alcohol). Dove-It Out. Another "under the bags" effect, but this time the audience saves the life of a little bird in a cage. No Gimmick Russian Roulette. Another crushing the bags effect, but this time with a spike or something else under one of the bags. I'm not a huge fan of an effect where there's real danger, particularly now that several prominent performers have made mistakes (one with an audience member getting hurt!), so I read through it briefly but have no plans to perform it. You'll learn the effect's technique elsewhere in SIGMA, so you don't miss that much by leaving this one out of your repertoire. Death Warrant II. Here's another interesting piece where Paolo (and Massimo Tira, his co-author) combine several classical principles into a strong effect. The plot as given focuses on a dead relative transmitting both his/her name and the tarot card the participant selected. Again, you can use the basic techniques, and some very interesting "atmospheric" candle gimmicking, to work as strong as you desire. W.D.W. Book Test. An ungimmicked book test that doesn't force you to miscall a page? Yep. It's a winner. Pun. One of seven spectators selects a word from a pocket dictionary, and then whispers the word to another spectator to start a game of Telephone. Unlike the traditional game of Telephone, where each player tries to repeat a sentence they heard from the previous player, in this case the players do a word association game so the last word in the chain (which is spoken aloud) comes from six associations. Based on the last word, you reveal the original word. In the second phase of the effect, you cause one of the spectators to forget a different word that you write on a piece of paper. Pun's a neat effect. Paolo doesn't mention this possibility, but if you have some guts and a good vocabulary, you could try to reconstruct the word chain using logic and a bit of cold reading. I imagine you'd miss a lot more than you'd hit, but it might be worth a try. Bonus Stuff. The bonus material rocks, including a new ending to his Chairvelopes routine, a book-based method to generate page numbers for Max Maven's Autome, a streamlined version of Martin Lewis' Technicolor Prediction, and another chair routine (Paolo admits he creates them as a hobby). The effects are well thought-out and very, very strong. And, because the routines use new combinations of classic principles, it's very likely you'll apply what you learn when you create your own routines. Curt |

Sigma is filled with MANY sleeper effects. at first glance, as I am on tour. I was hesitant. The book is full of knowledge and I need sleep. I started reading it, and from the second effect, it is FULL of effects and better still, ideas that can be used in other morer personalized routines.
The one routine that made me hooked was the ACAAN effect which utilizes a cell phone. EXTREMELY GOOD! |

I received my copy and having a newer interest in this type of magic I found it completely interesting. cfrye's write up is pretty complete. I'd be nervous about the No Gimmick Russian Roulette, and there's a chair routine suited for the stage guy that wouldn't fit for me.. But there's tons of material that's useable.
Even just learning the techniques is worth the price of the book. |

Sigma is easily the best book I bought this year! It's jam packed of practical stuff. And the bonus one-ahead booklet is such a tease.
