I was wondering if there had been a decision on whether or not there would be a gambling forum here at the magic Café; I think it was Amir who suggested it.

I can understand if the decision to have a gambling forum is no; maybe you don't want people to discuss poker strategy, how to win at slot machines, etc. etc. i.e., don't want to turn the Café into a big gambling forum.

But I know there are a lot of people like me who probably have never gambled more than $50 in their lives, but are just interested in "Artifice at the Card Table", proposition bets, and so on (I might also put here such things as con men, con games, and so on, basically all kinds of shady deception).

I know that when I posted a thread on Proposition Bets (in the card forum because I didn't know exactly where to put it), there was a big response, and some really good percentage/statistic bets came up. I later found another thread called "bar bets" that I think was several pages long and essentially about the same thing.

Well, I don't want this post to be an essay in favor of all the reasons for a gambling forum, I was just wondering what the status of it was.
