Hi,
I don't normally do illusions but I thought this you might find this optical illusion principle interesting. Here is the optical illusion principle: Tommy wrote: Quote:
Here is a real magic card trick: Try it . So the illusion is, have the stage magician tell the audience about the principle, and to place their left hand over their left eye. Now have the assistant move around about 5 to 6 feet to *the magician's* left. The position will be different for audience members in diferent parts of the theater, but if the assistant moves slowly from left to right, eventually s/he will disappear for a number of people in the audience. Now the 2nd illusion (supplied by you): the magician really makes the assistant disappear. As I say, I leave that part to you! Anyway, thought you might find this optical illusion principle interesting... --William |

The optical illusion relies on the fact that there are no rods or cones (light sensors) on your retinal wall at the point where the optic nerve exits the eye. The "blind spot" is formed at a certain distance and location and only that eye is being used. The convergance of two eyes, plus with their sight overlapping, typically negates any problems of the phenomenon.
Yes, it can be a neat illusion. Good thinking, although it would be hard with a large crowd. This is usually something done close-up for vision tests, etc.
Dyslexics UNTIE!!
