It dwindles away fairly rapidly after the first use. 2) in spite of the manufacturer's claims, it is not completely safe. The chemical that it uses produces byproducts that can be very probematic. If you have any questions e-mail me about it and I will explain what the problems are.

Zigmont knows whereof he speaks. All of the chemical systems mentioned are dangerous and none of them actually produce smoke. They produce vapors that look something like smoke.
The late Tony Andruzzi used quite a lot of a chemical used for various effects. It is the stuff used for skywriting. I also used it in some industrial films that I produced. I never had any problem with it because I used it out of doors. Tony did have a few problems. I was present when he managed to inhale a quantity of the "smoke" which turned to hydrochloric acid when it hit the membranes of his nose and throat. Fortunately, he was not seriously harmed but we had a bad half hour. His other problem with the stuff happened in an airport. I think it was St. Louis. His suitcase, containing a large bottle of the chemical, came bouncing down the baggage ramp and began to emit large white clouds. This was some years ago and he was able to convince the authorities that he wasn't dangerous to anyone but himself. Imagine what would have happened under present security conditions. Sid
