Sorry for taking soooooo long to write the review, but my life has been busy. Enjoy…
Product: The Asher Twist DVD Current Price: $25+$3 Shipping & Handling Format: DVD (zone 0 [can be played world-wide]) Where to Buy:Lee Asher’s Web Site: http://www.leeasher.com Effect: Four Cards turn over one at a time that all at once. Review: Effect: The Asher Twist is Lee Asher’s take of Dai Vernon’s Twisting the Aces with no false counts. This is a very visual effect but the angles are not perfect. The effect is not super hard but will need practice. -Performance of the Asher Twist (the original Well Done footage) The original performance footage from his Well Done video. -Explanation of the Asher Twist with Multiple Angles I felt the explanation could have been a bit better but maybe it's just me. I also felt it was a bit rushed. Because Lee is left handed if your right handed you have to mirror him. -Valuable Tips to Help Improve your Handling There are some really nice tips here. Lee talks about angles, spreads and more. The thing about this is that there is no section called Tips. There are some in the section where he explains the Asher Twist and then some where he talks about the angles but still there are some nice tips. -The Wesley James Displacement A nice way to eliminate the one count. If you don’t like doing the count (even though it’s not a false count) this maybe your answer. -Example of a Practical Use This is a very nice idea. I won’t tell you what this is but I really like this idea. -Fixing The Noise Problem Lee shares an idea to eliminate the noise. Not the best part of the DVD but if you do have this problem this might help. -Asher Twist Lineage Lee credits everyone who needs to be. This is very in-depth and complete. If only every DVD had a section like this… -Final Thought Lee talks about ethics and crediting in this section. This is one of my favorite sections. -Patter Tips Lee shares a few thoughts on patter. I already have patter for this effect so this wasn’t helpful to me but maybe it will help you. * As a bonus, live footage from a Chicago lecture. Lee talks about the Asher Twist at a lecture. Not too much to say about this. Pros: -Visual -A nice take on Vernon’s classic effect. -It’s a well thought out and constructed effect. -Impromptu -Just an overall good effect. Cons: -The angles are not great. (but on the DVD Lee teaches how to practice the angles to get them right) -There can be a sleight problem with sound if your not careful. -Something I didn’t like is that you never see Lee talking to the camera. You see his hands while he’s talking and you see him during the clip from the lecture and in the performance but nowhere else. *Comments/Notes*: -Remember Lee’s been going this effect for 12 years (some thing like that) so he knows what he’s doing with this effect. -I do not own Well Done so I cannot compare the explanations. Overall: 9/10 |

The DVD includes a lot of tips and hints previously unavailable in the published routine or the first DVD.

Well done!
The great trouble with magicians is the fact that they believe when they have bought a certain trick or piece of apparatus, and know the method or procedure, that they are full-fledged mystifiers. -- Harry Houdini
