There was a topic concerning the new year that has disapeared even though it contained news in the escape community.

Continue here.

I agree, lets talk about what we are doing New Years....

...not fatuous stuff from the past!

I am doing my usual magiccomedy/singing/mc work at a local hotel/dining place. They do a HUGE show every year, kinda like the old Guy Lombardo stuff (if you are old enough to remember that, we all need our geratol!)

As I told Mr. Baker, I ended my carrer as an escape artist years ago simply because the top money at a college then was about $1000 for an EA...

...comedians got twice that.

It is kinda like what I told Sammy Smith once; do you know what the difference is between a magician and an educational entertainer? About $1000 a day!

So, I wish EVERYONE, including Mr. S, the best of new years, may you all get everything you want, want everything you get, and get all the things you deserve!

We leave in two days to go to Minnesota. We are doing our full show there to kick off a youth lockin. About 1,000 teenagers will be there for an event that lasts till 6am and includes 8 bands, entertainment, food, games, etc. We of course will end with Kristen's water cell. this was the event she had planned on breaking the three minute mark underwater..only to do that several weeks ago in Vegas.

We are hoping for a major heat wave in Minnesota this week...LOL Pretty pathetic when you gotta plug the big rig in just to keep it warm.

Wishing everyone a great 2006!!!

I think that if you can get a show on New Years eve go for it! Ask for an enormous amount of money to compensate for not being able to go out and have a good time.
My friends and I will be at Shannon's Irish Pub to watch the Dust Rhinos play for three times what they earn on a non 'event night' show.
Kevin and Kristen, I am 8 hours away from Minnesota (my favorite place to visit) the weather in this region is way above normal so your truck should survive.

As you know I am classed as a Santini-ite, this is not true I only post what I feel deserves posting.

Way to go Mr Santini, you pulled off a great escape on New Years Eve (and thanks to modern technology I got to see it live). It is a shame that previous posts have been pulled, but that speaks for itself.

Well done Mr Santini,

Weasel

P.S. Mr Tripp, you say $1.000 is not enough to perform, I don't earn that much for every show, but I still do the shows to entertain my audience.

Actually that is not what I said. I said I could make MORE doing comedy.

Second, no matter what I do, I have always entertained an audience....

...I simply learned that the comic gets all the money....

...and the singer gets all the girls.

As such, I spend my time at what gives me the best return for my efforts.....

Hey Kevin & Kristen,
I may have to be the first to inform you that we have a state called Florida. It is the opposite of Minnesota. Perhaps next year you should hold the map upside down and you will find it.
I am glad Kristen already made the 3 minute mark in Vegas because if she does the Water Torture Cell in Minnesota for any longer than that, the illusion will need to be renamed the Ice Cube Challenge and she may not thaw out until April.

Happy New Year to you guys and Best Wishes for a prosperous and safe 2006!

The shame is that the people posting did things that forced them to be pulled...

...one should notice that the two people here who are suposed to be so "anti" Santini, were the ones give him credit.

I give him credit for getting the gig.

I am waiting for a full video before I comment on the actual escape....

Well, now I can say I have seen it.

So, I will say again, kudos for getting the gig.

Didn't look that "hot" to me, for several reasons.

Posting them would be thought of as "santini bashing", so I will not.

The main thing in this business is to entertain the audience.
Well, it seems to me that this was accomplised in a big way.

Unless you were there, and heard the actual crowd reaction, this is "facts not in evidence".

If you would like honest and objective I can give it to you, but I don't think that is what you want.

However, if pushed it will come out.....
