I have one quick question, What is the best way to roll your silk so that it stays in place till the steal and production? If this would be too much info for open forum please PM me!

UGM magic has a gimmick that holds the string and silk and all in place in your coat. I was pretty impressed with it when I saw at his lecture at Abbott's last year. But since I do nothing with any fire, I did not purchase it.

I'm with you. I don't want something that burns easily attached to me.

I had to make that point with my son several years ago when he wanted to race motorcycles and I said "No!". Jake's reply was, "But Dad, when you were my age you were riding bulls." My only response was, "And I never had one catch on fire!"

Jake was a great kid. He continued playing baseball instead. (At age 24 he is still playing!)

Look at the UGM website and see their holder. I think it is called UGM holder.

It holds the flash string and silk . I really don't think you need a holder just for the silk. Howard is right on the flag fold.

Yup, Richard is right & give great advice on this gimmck by UGM.

This is called UG Holder manufacture by Yuji Yamamoto from Japan.

This is retail at 3675 yen Plus shipping from Japan...about US$32.00 Plus Shipping is about US$38-$40.

It comes with the gimmick, bands, flash cord & instruction in English/Japanese.

There is a video showing the usage of this gimmick by Yuji himself at the World Seminar's 93 tape.

I bought from Yuji Yamamoto at a convention a few years back.

If wish, you can have it for US$20.00 from me(Visa or Mastercard accepted)......EVERYTHING included with FREE Air Mail to you....EXCEPT white Flash cord(can't ship this) but you can get this from any magic shop.

There is a triangular fold as explain on Stage Magic of Jeff McBride, Fukai from Japan demostrate before live, a neat fold....think Lance's use this on his act as seen on his 2nd special-from the way the silk expand & pop out as seen on Lance's act.

But in my personal view, any fold will do.....it works for most....hope this helps

This trick used to be the perfect introduction to color changing records or Silk Serenade. The first time I performed the two together was at a party in Beverly Hills. I had people above me looking down from a staircase and thought I would get caught. But they were looking at the wrong things at the right time.

It can be very effective.
