I just saw this very unusual film from Jim Henson Studios today. My wife, who is an artist, just loved it, and I thought that it was a unique film with a great deal to offer to magicians. Style as substance! Anyone else seen this?

I have! It is very interesting! I loved some of the riddles and hidden things in the back, not your everyday film!

The film lab I used to work at done the post production on this, it looked really wierd as we only got to see the actors and nothing else. This was about mid 2003.

I just read, in one of the lush books on this movie, that the whole thing was made for $4 million. That sounds like the catering budget for a summer movie.
It's really great to see something original and different in a movie theater. Kind of hard for them not to make a little money, too. We were a little early for the film. We showed up for a 3:00 PM screening about 20 minutes early, and the guy at the ticket window asked, "May I help you?" Kind of an odd question, as I didn't intend to order a pizza or look for employment, but I asked to buy two tickets to Mirrormask. "Uh, well, can you just hang around for a few minutes? I can't show the movie unless we have at least four people." Some more people showed up, and we saw it. So that's another great thing about this film. Sit where you like! Yours, Paul |

I saw this in the Fall in a small theater in DC -- awesome!
It should've been released full-public so that everyone can understand what a well-design movie looks like, as well as what an interesting movie should be! It was so fresh, new. Unlike most movies today. Intersting plot, great imaginative visuals. Why is there a record-setting movie sales slump? Because movies like this are not being made! And unfortunately it'll slip right under the radar of 90% of everyone. :-/ --Diavo

Underground, above ground, whatever. I don't need a label, thanks. |

It's okay, some of us have been fans of the writer and artist for a good decade now, enjoying The Sandman from its initial publication.
I hope the movie picks up as an art house film and later on cable.
