Members Of Ring 2100 and of Ring 116 Windsor Magic Circle....

This evening, January 1 2006, IBM Member, Ring 2100 Member and Ring 116
Member Jamie Gilbert passed away.

Last night he had fallen down and as a result tore the muscles out on both
his kneecaps. He was rushed to the hospital and was scheduled for
emergency surgery tomorrow morning after his dialysis. It appears that as
a result of the accident, a blood clot was disloged, travelled to his
brain, and resulted in his death.

There will be a lot for us as a group to do (116) in the upcoming days.
Please keep Jamie's family in your prayers in this time of crisis. I will
be speaking with Mrs. Gilbert tonight and letting her know that I will be
of any assistance possible. I hope that the Windsor Magic Circle will be
available for the funeral.

I will be preparing a memorial to submit to the Linking Ring, and we will
be having a broken wand ceremony....

I'm sorry....I don't know what else to say right now. 24 hours ago no one
would have ever thought this was going to happen. Please....I beg of
you....realize that we all only have this one day to live, and we must
make it be the best we can, for none of us knows if tomorrow will ever
come. Today, call someone you haven't spoke with and let them know you're
thinking of them. Bury the hatchet with an old feud. Let a family know
that you love them.

The only real magic that means anything in this world.

Don't take today for granted.

I used to belong to 116 and was a friend of Jamie's in the past. We drifted apart as friends. (stupid accusations....). I am saddened to hear this. He had a tough life with kidney problems and magic helped him. He had a crude humour that I will miss.

He will be missed. I read his postings on ring 2100 with pleasure and had emailed him a couple of times. Ring 2100 will be quieter without him.

I just found out yesterday in the Windsor Star Newspaper. My friend called me up because he knew that I knew Jamie through dialysis which Jamie and I were both on. Suddenly I stopped getting emails from him. This is such a shock to me because the last time I saw him was at the Christmas Magic Show for the Kidney Foundation of Windsor's Christmas Party in Windsor where he made my neice an honorary magician because it had been her birthday only 2 days earlier. Jamie was always doing such amazing things in my community and had a heart of gold. He will be missed terribly. It is also a shock because he was exactly the same age as me - 32.

Also I have the article from the Windsor Star article dated Jan 9th but I missed the obituary so I wanted to view it but that link only seems to work for the day you go to it. I did a search and Jamie's can't be found. This upset me. I wanted to post it in my own forums on my Kidney Site.

Well, I can't believe he is gone. I just can't believe it. He was an amazing person and an amazing magician with so many unique tricks.
