that's right! Jackson made a remark about seeing the play through binoculars.

Someone should tell Jackson that you are supposed to look through the SMALL end of the binoculars.

Let's just say anyone who watched every Texas game this season, as I did, was not surprised one bit by the victory or by Vince's performance. He just did what he's done EVERY game (against some defenses that were tougher than USC).

Us Longhorns are still dismayed that he didn't win the Heisman. This week has been surreal in that it's as if the rest of the country just discovered how good Vince Young is.

No matter, we're still riding the high of our first Championship in 35 years. It's been too long coming.

It is too bad that the Heisman (whoever one may be rooting for) too often comes down to who does better in the last game before the Heisman is given.

I remember Bush had a great game, and Young had only an OK game. Even the ESPN, et al.... commentators said that played a big role in the Heisman. But if one looked back, there were times when Bush was OK and Young was great.

Both are great, Heisman-calibre players.

I'll agree with that. The officals gave to Texas when they blew the knee down call. But USC got it back. Then USC gave it to Texas by letting them march downfield and letting Young stroll into the endzone for the game winner. It was still USCs game to win until that point.

I hope that this LenDale White goes pro. While Reggie Bushs mind was elsewhere LenDale was lighting it up. If he goes pro, I do believe that he would end up with the Packers. And I wouldn't mind that a bit.

I think that's a fantasy about the officials giving the game to Texas. Before the "knee call," the Horns had driven 70 yards down the field. Make no mistake, they were going to score. USC couldn't stop them.

The biggest blown call went against the Horns. They CLEARLY intercepted Leinart, but didn't get the ball. Then USC scored three points on that drive. The right call would have dramatically changed the game.

I was also disappointed and surprised at what a sore loser Leinart was. I guess he's so used to winning, he doesn't know how to be a gracious loser. That attitude wouldn't fly here in Texas.

I think Leinart was as gracious as he could be at the time - a mic stuck in his face after such a devastating loss.

I thought it was odd, though, that the first 2 people interviewed on the field immediately after the game were Pete Carroll and Matt Leinart. Normally the winning side gets the press first. Maybe they had all their stuff on that side of the field, suspecting a USC victory after they went up by 12 points.

And no one 'gave' Texas the game. Yes, Vince Young was down when he lateralled. But there was a clear interception that was not reviewed that would have given Texas the ball in great field position. The controversial non-fumble call against Texas (that was reviewed) was close, but correct according to the rules.

It was a great game. Texas won legitimately.

You are correct: Texas won legitimately. I was glad to see Texas win. I for one was kind of tired of the media picking who was going to win at the beginning of the season. I was also tired of hearing about this so call three-pete for USC when LSU won in 2003/2004. If you start the season by a set of rules you finish the season by the same rules, therefore USC was going for their second national title not their third. The media is who tried to award USC the title when LSU won it legitimately. The after the game they showed no class by interviewing the loosing team first.

Congratulations Texas for the win.

Another crybaby USC fan heard from. Pass the kleenex. USC fans just can NEVER admit they were beaten... It was always a case of robbery.

Texas won. Case closed. Yes they got a break on the lateral but Young looked unstoppable at that point. If USC deserved to win they should have stopped them on all their other drives, especially the last one.
USC fans have a short memory. How quickly they have forgotten "The Bush Push" against Notre Dame.
What happened to the penalty of assisting a player going forward?
