Me make fire, me make big fire...hahahaha.....
![]() I love this thing Kevin! Just got mine today. Such a simple, yet ingenious design. I used the Butane you recommend and it's working great. I agree with everything Steven said in his review and my only complaint is that there doesn't seem to be a way to make it work with only one hand, which somewhat limits the types of magic effects that can be done with it.

What's the difference between this device and the invisio-torch? Both seem to kick out large flames, and both require two hand operation.

Casual--
I was never able to find a way to do it safely one handed. Cataquet- THe difference between the Portable FlameThrower and Inviso is the size of the flame and they work completely differently. |

I can see how turning it into a one handed device would have been difficult.
I've had to rethink the effects I originally intended to incorporate it into, but, with creativity, I've actually figured out an alternate handling for a couple, and just thought up a couple new applications as well. One of my favorites is in a routine developed by another Café member, Nathan Kranzo. He has been selling his Fire Coins routine for $6, which is a great little routine btw, and there is a segment to it where you pull out a lighter for the spectator to use. I've been using the Flamethrower here to great effect and lots of nervous laughs.

The P.F. is a much bigger flame and the fire is controlled by you -- thus it will go out when you want it to

A few posts mention the use of a lighter. Is an external ignition source nessisary for this gimmick to operate?
