I would like to know something about the angels...
and does it make any noise? (f.e. hearing the coin scratching over the glass) |

I'm on the verge of ordering one now but do you need to wear a ring since I mostly do close up magic
without clink-ables on my fingers? Thank you. Marco1 |

I think Hocus Pocus mentioned that no ring is required for this in their ad

The ad mentions that not "special" ring is needed- but you need to be wearing one to perform it. We´re working on a ring-less version, but it may take more time to reach the market. The effect price differs in hank lee because he made a discount to be the first one to sell this. I should say that David Blaine was interested to perform the illusion on his next special, but since it's already in the market, I don't think he going to.
The coin CAN be signed (if you know a good one-handed switch) but I don't think that the trick gets better by doing that. Cheers |

Hi,
@marco1 and ClouDsss The HP ad says "No special ring needed". I don't know how it's done, but to me it sounds like you need a ring, but it can be any ring. I Would like to know if someone could deny the fact that a ring is needed, as this is a concern of mine too. |

I already wear a ring for Subterfuge, would it be a problem? and no the ring is not magnetic!(meaning it's not a magnet)

Nice effect PKG. You can do mine and then go into yours with your same ring.
For the noise factor, it depends on the coin used, but I explain a simple way to make any "talkin'" coin to silence for this effect. What really sells this trick is that every movement is natural, consecuent with the actions you have to perform if you were really performing the miracle. Plus, you can do it with coins, candy, poker chips, etc. |

As in, do I have to wear a specific type of ring? (the ring I wear is ferromagnetic, meaning, attracted to coins....and based on your answer, it's a special coin...will steel core coins work or you provide a specific coin?
Posted: Jan 21, 2006 12:31pm Ah ok! GREAT!!!! cuz I am too attached to my Subterfuge, and to be honest I don't want to wear any other ring...sorry for asking a lot of questions, but usually when I order something I get all nosy when it's matter of days (in this case weeks) to get it!! GRACIAS!!! georgie

OK wait no problem with having to wear a ring. But is position and type an issue? I wear a wedding band on my left hand and its Titanium and not the thinnest. Its pretty thick and cut in the middle but filled in with a Diamond. Will this be an issue. La verdad?

Middle and ring finger supported. I never tried with the index, but it could work too.
As long as we call a "ring" something that's around your finger... it workz. And if it's in your left, you have to adapt the moves and learn it "left handed" !!! |

Well not to worried about that because I am left handed. ARGH! now I have to think. Thanks for the Honesty.

Just watched the full demo video on Hank Lee' site. Hank Lee's full length video is more honestly than the cutted video appear on Hocus Pocus's site. The curved hand have shown the method. Although I have figure out the method but I still order it from Hank Lee becuase I need the gimmick and coins to work with.I think this cann't work with larger coin . Hank Lee only sell it at $45 HP sell it at $60 A total $15 cheaper !

Not defending hocus-pocus , but the customer service (at least from what I've experienced) is worth 50$ more on every item!
and yes figured out A WAY to do so using subterfuge (loved the common "ditching" process between Cesaral's Melting Point and Subterfuge ) , even with Now-u-c-it-now-u-dont you can do the same thing but not as clean as it looks with melting point!! (watched the video from a layman's perspective and a magician's perspective....) will post an in-depth review once I get it!

I doubt now you c it now you don't can come close.
I mean we are talking about 2 things here, Half a vanish and half a production. This effect can be done with pure sleight of hand but what we are paying for(and the reason for this effect) is to do so as cleanly as possible. With this, the item(s) can be handed out(most of the times I'd guess) and handled freely(not doable with methods that gaff the item). This clearly shows the recieving hand empty and also gives a very convincing display of the sending hand empty too... I just think that due to the nature of the non-connectedness of the method(while other princples would require some sort of connection) this is one of the best ways to handle the effect and others methods such as Now you c it or sleight of hand won't come near how clean this is.. Not to mention that this method lends itself to being repeated 2-3 times(I would guess) with different items, since if they think you were hiding a coin or it was already under or a gimicked piece of glass, ect, you could fool them with a repeat since the cleanlyness of your hands is focused on at just the right parts to confuse and amaze the spec even if they were trying to follow what was going on... I can't vouch for the props or the instructions as I've only seen the demo, but it looks like a pretty practical way to do this that is very clean looking and nifty to get double use out of the principle. -daegs ps PLEASE work on the no ring method... I have never worn a watch or rings and never plan to and this cuts off many principles for me... I can't fathom how you would do this without ring w/o surgery, but if you crack the problem let us all know!!! |

I don't think it can be done by using Now-u-c-it-now-u-dont . But I can do it with my Subterfuge . The coming out effect is 100% same as Melting Point and end clean. I don't have a cam on hand otherwise I will upload a video.
Thanks for Hank Lee's video demo. I can do it with my Subterfuge and don't need to wait for weeks for the Melting Point gaffs to come. Actually I ordered it two days ago at Hank Lee. |
