The Chinese Choice is a great routine using 3 spectators. Great comedy lines good plot and strong ending.
This is something I now use! Regards Peter |

Thanks Peter. Could you provide a bit more detail about the routine. I should be
picking up the DVD soon but I just can't wait til it arrives to find out ! I'm also really looking forward to John's Toss Out Desk routine. I couldn't decide between Hoy's, Dobson's, Gazzo's, Fisher's, or Regal's version of the effect. Being able to have the desk shuffled and examined prior is a real plus and should make it that much stronger (and I'm sure John's comedy doesn't hurt the routine either ). Bosco |

I have known John for many many years and he one talented guy.
Just to let you know that I am not giving him a big up as a mate, but he is one damm good close-up magician who has fried me many a time. He's no slouch on the theory and moves of close-up. His tossed out deck routine with a shuffled deck has gone into my act from the moment I watched it. It's worth many many times the price on this alone. Here's wishing you all the best mate and please continue to make dvd's so I can (PINCH) as much as your material a possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the best, Martin Sanderson

What can I say,
Thank you all. Especially Mr Cuffs and Mr Sanderson, I have your DVD's too which are fantastic but lets be carefull this doesn't become a mutual appreciation society... So many nice comments. I'm glad you all like them. I agree that the DVD's do get a little self indulgent at times but this is because I wanted to try to keep them informal and made a decision not to over-edit the explanations or interviews so now and again I am just.... messing about. But you all seem happy so thanks you, and if you have any questions feel free to email me - john@john-archer.com and I'll try to help out Cheers, John. |

John,
Educating Archer is a fabulous package of material. For me, the highlight is Komedy Killer. And Collared. Oh and the Tossed-Out Deck. And...well, you get the idea. |

Let me clarify, this man is truly funny. I don't think that I could pull off some of the Jokes he does. LOL and I truly loved his Komedy Killer.

And the "menu" music used throughout is the 2nd Waltz from the Jazz Suite, by Shostakovich.

The menu music sounded reminiscent of the theme of Poirot. I love that show. I was laughing so hard while Collared was on. ROVM! ROVME!
Cheers, mackmania

Rovme! It sounds a bit rude, doesn't it! Very funny. What a great routine.

The 'Magic Square' presentation was very good...this and the 'Tossed Out Deck' for me were the two big winners on these dvd's. I will say that I have to be reminded often that an 'audience' on so many of these tapes really means a group of local magicians and spouses.

I really enjoyed John's clever subtleties on standard effects. My favorites were Spelling Test, Komedy Killer and Chinese Choice.
What I did with Chinese Choice is after the spectator reads out the prediction, I take the menu from him and it unfolds, to reveal the same prediction, written in big letters for the entire audience to read. A much stronger ending. Rick
