Hi Ken

I like the dark footage, do you really think its a problem? You are definatly right about the length though. I need to trim it a bit more. It took my two days to get it that short!

I think it only needs to lose about 40 seconds . . .

Which 40 seconds to lose will be the BIG problem because it's really good stuff...
so... if you can't decide what to leave out just leave it alone. Well done David!!

Cool video David.

I like it the way it is, but if you were to edit some bits out you could take away some of the stuff that repeats itself.

The viewer gets to see you coming out of the water a couple of times and there were a few other bits that showed the same stunt.

This would keep the same feel and show the same stuff as it does already, but reduce the length.

Just a thought.

Sword swallowing stunt is quite many times. I think it would make it powerful if you use only some good quality shot of it and edit darker shots out. Don't edit out material were you are whit large audience. Maybe editing out some "backyard" stuff would make it even more professional looking. I would be little careful with material which shows straitjacket technique.

But... It's YOUR video, You decide what kind it is. It's Your creation. Maybe I made my point.. (It's good allready.)

Hi Jari

You might be right about the sword stuff, it had already occured to me, perhaps you have a point with the straitjacket technique stuff to.. hmmmm, I will have to think on that. I am not really sure if a layperson will spot technique from it or not. Worth me considering though!

Out of interest, what bit looks backyard? I am not at all offended by the way, but there is nothing backyard there. Everything is from shows, TV, or pro shoots. I have literally 100 or so hours of show footage and tv stuff, no need for backyard footage at all. But if something looks that way, it needs to go!

Thanks for the suggestions Riley & Roslyn, they are very welcome.

I have so much footage that it is almost impossible to choose stuff to use. I have had to not use stuff where I have huge arena audiences because the shots are to poor, or in the case of the water stunt, you cannot tell that there is actually 25,000 people lining the banks of the lake!

I think everyone is agreed that it is a little overlong. Thanks for the suggestions, it will be shorter!

I agree with Ken, it needs to be shorter.... you know what agents are like.

Saying that I know you are trying to get over your full repertoire, but it may be an idea to send a short general CD and then seperate CD's on your different acts/talents that they could send out to prospective bookers.

Just an idea,

Weas

Hi Weasel.

I thought about seperate CD's, but I think it is confusing for the agent, and complicated for me. Simplicity, that's what we need. Hope to see you soon mate Smile

I will be cutting a good chunk out of the vid, that ought to do it.

I have just uploaded my video streaming page, its a test page at the mo to see if the script and server work properly. I would appreciate ANY comments about ease of use ect. Good and bad!

Cheers

I have little difficulties to find right English words... With "backyard" I meant shots from the ruins (spinning with sjacket etc). But maybe the fault is only in my eyes. So don't be offended. I just thinked that if somethink have to edit out, maybe I would cut that bit. It's just my opinion. (Opinions are like ***holes... everybody have one.) Smile

Jari

PS. About certain technique... no laypersons don't see, but why show somethink like that to every wannabe Houdini... Jep, now everyone is checking what the hell that means... stupid me.. :-(

Hi Everyone

Jari, in the UK, 'backyard' is taken to mean poor quality, non professional footage, usually filmed literally in a persons backyard. hence the confusion.

I wasn't offended in any way at all. I put the video up here for comments that might help improve it, your comment did just that!

Anyway, with everyones comments in mind there are now two promo videos on the website, the first, and primary one, is 3 minutes long, more than 2 minutes shorter than the version above. The longer one is still there to download, and both are streamed as well as downloadable.

You can see the low quality stream here: http://www.thefreakshow.co.uk/video/video.htm

Or download the better version of the shortened edit from:
http://www.thefreakshow.co.uk/video/DS2006Teaser.wmv

Hope you like it, and thanks again for everyones comments.

But the video, I think it's better now. More "striking" than before.
