I should point out that Jim shared some of his great research with us to use in the big Leipzig section of Roy Benson by Starlight (Leipzig writings, 20 effects, and a ton of memorabilia).
Jason: Frank Thompson and Jack Birnman will be great books. Any idea on how to get the ball rolling? Andrew: A few people keep talking about doing a book on lady magicians, and I hope at least one of them does so at some point. Cinemagician: Nelms and Kreskin are interesting ideas. Kreskin's been around so long and he still seems so unfamiliar, especially his techniques. He's still performing, I think, so I wonder how open he would be to tipping his material...I hope he does! |

Thanks Todd! Looking forward to when the Benson book is released!
Re: Frank Thompson - There's an old thread over on Genii that discusses a bit about who'd have info on Frank Thompson. Check it out: Genii Thread. In addition to the people listed there, Ray Goulet may have some input, since he's the one who published the two booklets Thompson released. I'd certainly be interested in seeing this book be made. -Jim

U.F. Grant definitely deserves the everything-under-one-cover treatment.
Ditto for Burling Hull. And could somebody please make Viking reissue the complete set of Magick already? Best, Neil

Todd,
I'd like to see another compendium of Burger material. I can't wait for the Teller book, even if I have to wait till I'm 80. Maybe a compendium of mentalist material from people like Hoy, Koran, Mann, and all others whose books have sadly gone out of print. Cheers, Mack Hayden P.S. Will Max Maven ever publish another book, besides the upcoming Gilbreath Principle manuscript? How about the Birds of Prey Series? Thanks again!

I don't know how easy or difficult it would be but I'd like to see a book on S. Leo Horowitz very much. U.F. Grant's material along with biographical information would make a great book.
Someone should get Marty Kane to collect all of his beautiful published card magic along with some new tricks. What a book that would be. But my most hoped for book right now is than someone will publish all (or a good portion) of Michael Skinner's notebooks with the proper writing describing his patter and handling details. The notebooks are around, someone just needs to do this...soon. Michael had quite a bit of material that hasn't been published.

Another vote for the unpublished material of Michael Skinner.
I would also like to see all of the magic of John Ramsay in one nice volume. |

Todd, is there any plans of doing a big book on Michael Weber's magic?

Todd,
Do consider the Horowitz and Skinner books. I could help with some Skinner material and anecdotes.

How about a book on how to make your own magic effects.

Todd-
How about a book about todays big performers such as Lance Burton, Gary Darwin, Feilding West and a few other magicians who are working big gigs NOW. They don't have to expose their effects, but they could give good advice on todays magic and where they think magic may be heading. Eric D. Redman |

Eric: Kevin James suggested a similar project...great minds think alike!
Pete: I'm very interested. And you're going to love the giant Linking Rings section in the Benson book. The routine begins with four links and unlinks using NO KEY, then proceeds into a superb explanation of essential contemporary ring moves. Marvin: I hope I could twist Michael's arm to do so. He's brilliant. Jon: You're right on about Corinda. I've been pondering doing this for a while, but the rights are owned by D. Robbins, as far as I know. Drk: Yes, a book on building techniques would be very interesting. There are so many little construction secrets magicians learn along the way, it would be great to collect them. Ryan: Skinner and Horowitz would be nice books. I think Geno Munari owns most of the unpublished Skinner material. |

Todd,
How about a biography of Ted Annemann. Not much has been written about him. Not even much in the Max Abrams book. A couple of pages. Articles scattered through out old magazines etc. Todd I actually sent you a p.m. on this subject with a more specific question about it. Thanks, London

London: We actually have two Annemann-related projects in the works, so your wish may come true. I have 75 photos from Annemann's family and tracked down his daughter.

Let me add my vote for the Annemann idea. Also consider books about Jay Marshall and the Blackstones.
