I've been doing coin through the can for a bit now, and I perform it
well enough to be pretty much surrounded during it. The bar I hang out most at, pretty much everyone there knows that I like to make 'bar bets', and that they know they won't win. I decided I'd do the can trick for a friend, and to my dismay, this bar does not carry ANY can except 16oz bud cans. I actually did the trick with no real difficulties. He told a few people, and an hour later, I was doing the trick for six people upstairs. I could not get the can open. I tried and I tried, and the *** top would just not move. Meanwhile, people were getting restless, and they were beginning to get suspicious. Finally, I get the can open probably 30 seconds later. I finish up the remainder of the performance. I could tell people were dissatisfied by the fishyness of the can opening procedure which, as most of you know, generally takes place with the top of the can in plain sight. Later on, I noticed a unique feeling in the tip of my thumb. I am now the proud owner of a budweiser can top imprint on my thumb. The corner of the top even dug so far in, that it bled. When speaking with people the next day, who had seen my less than par performance, oddly, they didn't even remember the difficulty. They all remarked that it all seemed fair and that if it hadn't been me performing it, that they would have been far more receptive (I do so many stupid tricks down there that people just don't react the way they did when I met them). Oh well, every time someone new gets hired, I take em in the back and levitate. Anyway. Injured- but not while on the job. Just an FYI for those of you who know the performance of this trick, but not all the side-notes you can find: Do not use budweiser cans (for this reason and more) unless you're desperate |
