I have a candle holder that can accomodate 3 candles.
I would like to make some different kind of effect using all 3 candles. until now I have only accomplished to vanish 1 candle in a flash of fire and make it reappear later at the fingertips. any idea of existing candle magic effects that I can insert in my routine? I would like to avoid multiplying candles... |

My God! It's WCW and wrestling legend STING! Sorry. That is a great pic. Why don't you do a vanishing candleabra? Or have all three candles vanish on the candleabra and reappear on a new one you bring out? There are many man ideas with candles Michael P. Lair has some wonderful effects with candles, Michael is a friend of mine and I have seen his tricks up close and they are truly marvelous. http://www.lairmagic.com check it out.
Best Wishes, Luke

Well I know you don't want to hear this sting,
But the owen multiplying candles are by far the most magicial and impressive candle production in magic. Imagine producing all four candles in one single flash of fire and they would all be lit? They may be overused and or used wrong in the magic world but if done right an audience would be impressed, at least... DJ |

So in your case the second holder would be holding a vanishing candle, and the third holder a multiplying candle set (from Owen). Both are obtained in a st*** and after you vanish the vanishing candle or as your vanishing the vanishing candle it disappears in a flash of fire. When the flash of fire sizzles away your left hand is seen to hold four miniatre lit candles. You could joke about "getting 4 candles for the price of one".
Place them all away seperately (the multiplying candles), this is possible with the Owen candles. When your on the last candle throw it into the air while it is lit to produce an item used to smoothly connect to your next routine. Maybe a white silk, or a billiardball, or take on a real challenge and make that candle change into an albino budgie?... ...That is good magic... |

How about trying out these ideas -
* Candle (with a burst of fire) transform to a card fan - followed with a 36" silk bursting through the card fan (card fan drops on the floor when the silk appears)- reappear the candle again - vanish it with the silk and produce a dove. * Candle (with a burst of fire) transform to a colored wand and then multiply them * Produce a fan of cards with your bare hands - take a single card from it and transform it to a candle (appearing candle) - vanish it with a flash of fire and re-appear it in mid-air. (Note: appearing candles can also be used to vanish) * Candle (with a burst of fire) transform to a cane - and appearing a dove standing on it. Hope this helps |

Both the vanishing and appearing candles can be used to create two different effects - an appearance and also the vanish.
That means you can appear and disappear the candle with the vanishing candle set. Likewise you can also appear and disappear the candle using the appearing candle set. Study the mechanism of the candles closely - it can be achieved. |

Fantasio's Book on Canes and Candles would be a good source.
There is a lot more info than on the video.
