A while ago I saw a mindreading act, where a lady is blindfolded and the magician walks into the audience. He asks questions like :
"What dress does this lady wear" "Come on, we don't go to a funeral" Where the mindreadster responds with : "Black" "What does this man have on his wrist" Come on, we don't have much time" Where the mindreadster responds with : "a Watch" "What does this lady drink ? " Concentrate! " Where the mindreadster repsonds with : "Orange" I'm looking for simular lines to start my 2 person mindreading act with. Do some of you know some good lines ? |

"what is the man wearing on his nose? - can you see it clearly?"
glasses. "OK lets turn the page now, what does this lady have in her handbag? - does your sixth sense cover it? book. "Good if I were to look at this book for about a year and then turn to any page - what page am I looking at now?" 365. "What have I taken from this very attractive young lady - I know it is on the tip of your tongue?" lipstick "what have I found in this gentleman's wallet? - use your 'extra sensitive' powers." balloons? "close enough"
Make mine a double.

That would be Peter Gossamer and the routine is still in his current act.

Bob Nelson "Comedy Mentalism" (vol 3 I think) has some stuff.
I have also seen Johnny and Pam Thompson and even Aldo Columbini do similar bits but Peter G. is most recently known for it. I have even found bits like this in a few books published at the turn of the century. However, even though acts of this nature go waaaaaaaay back, you might want to put a different spin on it. It probably takes a good deal of comic timing to pull off an act like this without lots of groaning from the audience. There is a reason vaudeville died. Scott |

No Skill Comedy Mind Reading is the book your looking for.
Its six bucks from Ronjo.com and even makes a reference to the Gossamer performance. Scott was right on though as this day and age may get you more groans so pick it up, learn their ideas, burn it up, and make your own. With some modern humor I don't see why you cant personlize and revive this oldie. (Ignore the bad review on the bottom he just didn't know what he was buying.)
Ephes. 2:8-9
