I know this has been discussed in other posts but I would like some more opinions on the zero gravity levitation itself. Is it good? Hard to make? etc... Any information you can provide, I'd really appreciate. Thanks everyone, hopefully other people will be able to see this thread and make decisions based on it.
*** If I accidently posted this in the wrong forum, mods can you move this or can you tell me how I can do it? |

I would say that it doesn't look good enough to justify the effort it takes to make. just my opinion.

I have seen the effect and I like the way it looks. However, I would not use it, due to the fact that the limitations do not work with my areas of performance. All in all though, the trick is wonderful and does look great to the lay audience.

Piece of junk! It doesn't improve the Balducci levitation at all. And it is extremely difficult to make in a way that it works.

I don't know the method, but I have an idea of it. My question is, will it only work with one pair of shoes i.e. the 50's style converse shoes, or can it be adapted for other shoes as well?

I can't really expand on what I've said without the risk of tipping a secret. Because certain methods of levitation have been widely exposed.. I think its important that we keep a tight seal on the discussion of the few remaining secrets.

I have bought the levitation trick, it's one where you use a towel or something like it in the front. It works with any of my shoes.
Is it good? Well, maybe, if you can show it better than I can. It's one that I show not everytime. At least nobody can guess the gimmick that easy, and the gimmick is not easy to buy if you don't buy the trick... But I can't do it the way David Blaine is showing it, that one is really cool. No cover, on the street, and how far he can levitate.... no idea how that works. Anybody know where to get that trick and how difficult it is to show? Also, I guess the videos of David Blaine are just edited movies? That would explain why he can't reach through the window and grab the watch he just stole before.... |

Zero gravity will take tons of work to construct once you get the manuscript. Set aside an evening at least. And then you will be rather uncomfortable wearing these shoes other than when you want to perform the effect. Normal walking in the prepared shoes is difficult to say the least.
The sight angles for performance are good though, and you can achieve a decent height. But you will be in a bind if people want to see the bottom of your shoes. No can do. The Elevator, by contrast will allow you to show the bottom of your shoes freely. I think that puts the Elevator at the top of my list. And with Zero gravity, you can NOT levitate over a water puddle! (Those in the know will know exactly what I am saying here!)

On the plus side if you want to make a DIY version of Peter Marvey's Anti-Gravity Boots for cheap then buy zero gravity.
I wont say this is the worst trick ever but its just not that improptu. |

What about the floating milk crate?!?!? I like zero gravity alot. Its what blain performed in front of fruity loops and his friends. It looks sick. The construction isn't THAT bad. whatever. The longer you spend on making the trick, the better it will look... I would say get it, what is it anyway, 10 bucks... that's cheap.

I'm pretty sure that was the Balducci he did for Fruit Loops. That was a hilarious clip by the way. Fruit Loops was a trip! I laugh every time I think about him. That is part of what made th Blaine specials so good. He performed for REAL people no matter how strange or wierd they looked. It was the people interaction that sold the show.

I'd do the Balducci (with the opposite lifting foot I'd use for Zero Gravity), and then turn around and face the spectator and perform Zero Gravity. This proved effective for those that "thought" they knew what I was doing with the Balducci. But these days, I mainly use the Elevator for street levitations, and King Rising in a Box (my own variation of King Rising) for stage. Being restricted to those Converse shoes is just too limiting. And my attempts at altering other shoes proved to be both costly and fruitless. My two cents.

Well, more power to you guys. I bought it about two years ago and went through two pairs of shoes and still couldn't get it right. Guess I better stick to buying premade illusions.

Which one are you referring to, Zero gravity, king rising, or elevator?

Kraminator for Zero Gravity you don't need a towel or jacket in front of you, you must be thinking of King Rising or Wild Levitation.

This one sucks. Don't waste your money. Instead, save your pennies and buy Peter Loughran's "Elevator". Now there's a levitation that will get your feet off the ground!
