Yikes...well..I don't seem to have that issue in front of me. Was it a favorable review?

It equated it to a Phil Goldstein effect I bought back in the 70s. So I can say without a doubt that the effect is 100%. Everything in the advertisment is true. Someone can remove a crayon from the box while you are in another room, you can call him from the other room on the telephone and tell him what crayon he removed.

The instructions come with a few different routines and an idea for the coloring book effect.

The review was mostly positive.

Hello,

It got a great review in the magazine. It is simple to perform, practical and a very clever idea. This is one you'll use and not throw in the drawer. In stock at Hocus Pocus for immediate delivery

Its been getting some good reviews. Initially a comedy effect but being used as a serious play I heard.

I read somewhere that you can use this prop only in the English language.

Is this true ???

Or in Canada outside of Quebec.
Like Bonnie Raitt said, "I miss Little Feat more than I miss being 8 years old." Thanks for the concerts + recordings, Lowell, Richie, and Paul!

Yes I believe only English speaking routines for the crayons.

Could someone who has this please post a mini review? Thanks in advance.

Just a little hint.....use this with men. Those of you that have it will understand why with a little thought.

I own Psychic Crayons. Although I have not performed it yet, I have seen it performed by the inventor, Chris Mitchell, many times. It always kills. Yes, it is great for kids shows, but also for adults. Very simple to perform. If you can read and hold a box of crayons, you can do it. The cool thing is, it can be used as a stand alone routine, or added to other routines. There are a few ideas in the instructions, but I have a hard time believing that people won't be able to come up with their own routines for this.

Yes, both MAGIC and GENII magazines gave it a positive review.

On a side note, I saw Chris perform this once at the Magic Castle (all adults) and the spectator tossed the crayons back to Chris (on stage) as he instructed. The box of crayons hit him in the forehead, and exploded. Crayons went flying everywhere!!! It was sustained laughter for about 3 minutes while he picked up all of the crayons off the stage... of course, after the laughter died down (he waited a long time for that) he was able to correctly name their crayon... HUGE RESPONSE!!!

Highly recommended.

1) No, your English was fine!

2) Your email address is globetrotter.net, an ISP which serves Quebec:
"Being a member of TELUS Québec, Globe Trotter is one of the most strongly positioned Internet service providers in Canada and the one with the largest territorial coverage in the Province of Quebec."

3) Actually, I didn't know you're from Quebec. I did know you were from Canada, so it was a bit of a humor nonsequitur, commenting about English being spoken in Canada except in French Quebec, thus answering your question in a roundabout way.

4)But getting back to the trick.........
;-)

Hi Eric Buss, I am v interested in this. Tell me something, does the spectator actually take the crayon out then put it back in? Or do they take it out and hide it out of view + then you reveal it?

Thanks Smile

You can do it either way... have them put it back in, shake the box, etc... then reveal the name of the color, or have them hide it from view.

It's a force, but a clever one. You know the name of the color they choose long before they know that they are gonna see a magic show.

Do you always force the same color, or can you change it?

Jheff's Marketplace of the Mind had this review:

Chris Mitchell is one of the funniest performers I've
recently seen. His Psychic Crayons is just part of a
hilarious game show routine. Chris is not a mentalist, but
a comedy magician, and though he uses this in a comedy
mentalism routine, it doesn't mean that this item should fly
by the mentalist community. It's really very clever. In
the blurb, Mark Wilson unfortunately gives it away by
revealing it's a forcing prop. Of course, I would've told
you that, but then I'm informing discriminating mentalism
enthusiasts.

Anyhow, the force is extremely direct. The box of crayons
is handed to a spectator who can pick any one of them. And
that person can see that each and every crayon is a
different color. Yet, no matter what they pick, you'll know
the color ahead of time. The only hint to its method that
I'll give you, and I have to say this, is that this prop
does require the person who picks it to speak English. It
is not adaptable to another language.

The package includes a normal looking box of 24 crayons
(because it is -- "Crayola" brand, of course) and one glossy
4 page 5.5" x 8" booklet (actually one glossy 8.5" x 11"
page folded in half). It includes a very nice routine by
George Saterial in which the performer names three
thought-of items from spectators' childhoods, including a
crayon color, natch. However, experienced mentalists will
see many possibilities for this unique, highly recommended,
forcing tool.

NOTE: According to the instructions, two different force
colors are available. You only get one with each package.
At the time of this writing, only one color is available.
When I find out the details of the availability of the
second color, I'll modify these comments and mention it in
a newsletter.
