Hi, I was just wondering is Bisection by Andrew Mayne worth it?

With practice, you will receive one of the best reactions from your spec. Some people freak out, as the illusion is that strong.

My favorite part is putting the gaffs in the spectators hands...it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside! - Bob Kohler |

Can you use the gimmick over and over?

It's also pretty easy to make as well, packs up relatively small too, fairly angle friendly and fun to do. You will enjoy it.

Ok, I will be ordering tonight. One more thing though, how close can the specs be?

I thought this was a different trick. The trick I thought it was is the same sort of thing except with your bottom half. Anyone know where to find this effect?

Wow, I have been looking at some of his other effects, and some look amazing. In his body morph book are gimmicks needed or are they impromptu? Are the tricks good in body morph?

I have Bisection but was never able to find the material needed to make the props. I went to the websites in the booklet but could never find them. Now being in Iceland it is a lot harder. Any help with direct links would be great. Please PM me if you need proof that I have the booklet.

Body morphing book...Not something I would highly reccommend. Some pretty cheesy stuff, and a lot of things I was doing in grade school. I do have his Voodoo Box and Neck Stretcher, and those are both pretty good plan books. I have been looking at Bisection for a while...Hopefully it will be a decent one.

Why is it so hard to build? Is the gimmmick expensive to make?

I like Bisection but never had the chance to actually perform it. It is not hard to build and is fairly cheap to do so. However, it has been so long since I made mine that I cannot remember where I obtained the items.

I used a coathanger instead of what Andrew suggested. It was a lot easier to obtain and works just as well. If you have bi-section, you should be able to figure out what piece I am talking about.

I used a coathanger as well. It is not a close up trick, your spectators do have to be a few feet away.

I cut off a branch. Just kidding, I used a long piece of wood I found in my basement.

One of the things about Andrew's material, is he keeps it simple. sometimes, it could use a bit of fleshing out, but I feel it stimulates creativity instead of spoon feeding you. He gives you the principles, then you can improvise and adapt according to what suits you best.

I wish I thought of using a clothes hanger. I think this effect goes well with audiances, also I have adapted it to be performed virtualy surrounded. It's a great effect with practice.

This is a great effect. When I first saw the demo, I thought I had an idea, but once I got mine, I was way off. It was even better, very practical. I'v had very good reactions with this.
