Believe it or not, I belonged to a magic ring in Miami and a very young Vincent D'Onofrio was a member. We were even in a stage show together and I remember he did a jumbo Invisible Deck.

I'm not sure how much of a magician he was but you can see Buster Keaton do an excellent french drop to reproduction from behind his own ear in The Cameraman.

Charles Dickens (writer)
Prince Charles (British royalty) (ok, ok ........ those two are not actors or tv personalities , but are "famous persons" who were/are also magicians. Dickens was apparently a very accomplished magician . I'm not sure if Prince Charles has kept up his interest or not , but at one time he was a member of The Magic Circle ) Woody Allen. (comedian, writer, director, actor) Dick Cavett. (comedian, television talk show host , writer ) Neil Patrick Harris (actor) Adrien Brody (actor) Rumor has it that Daniel Radcliffe (the young actor who plays Harry Potter) is taking a serious interest in sleight of hand and is being tutored in the art by Paul Kieve . |

Tony Shaloub of Monk (and Men in Black) loves magic.
When he was in Vancouver doing a film, I had the fun of teaching him some magic at the shop I was working at then. I showed him the floating match. He was like a little kid, he was so excited he bought 6!

Former president George Bush is an amature magicain from what I understand. I think Regan was a big fan of magic as well.
A lot of pro wrestlers besides Paul White are magicians as well. I know Bush is not an actor (I know open to opinion some might say) But there are a lot of famous people I'm sure we are not aware of that have some intrest in magic. |

Even though he is not an actor, and is soon to be famous; John McLaughlin the new acting chief of the CIA performs magic. He is know around his office as Merlin and according to the article "can be seen walking around with rubber bands on his wrists, used for impromptu magic tricks." Also talk about him doing a torn and restore newspaper.

The Olsen twins do a neat ambitious card where Kate has the spectator sign a card and put it anywhere in the deck she is holding. Meanwhile,Ashley is holding a deck of her own several feet from the spectator. Kate makes a magical gesture over her deck and then points to Ashley who reveals the signed card on top of the deck she has. Apparently their dad is an underground move monkey with SERIOUS chops. Looks like the girls are making him proud!

Let us not forget Mr. Alice Cooper - he has used MANY illusions in his live performances over the years (the most notable of which is the guillotine that I believe was designed by Randi).

I understand one of the newest magicians-in-training is Daniel Radcliffe. He's been learning from the consulting illusionist for the Harry Potter films (sorry can't find the original reference).

I have heard that an actor from many old black and white movies named Houdini did magic and was quite well known for it.
Johnnathan Levit who was on an episode of X-Files is a great magician. I don't know 100%, but I think I remember reading many years ago that Benny Hill was a magician as well. I know he did some joke magic in many episodes of the show, but I think I read when he died that he was a member of the Magic Circle in the UK. Lincoln
