This might, no will sound impossible and before today I would have said it was impossible.
Today I learned about a technology that makes it possible to mark a deck of cards in such a way that the marks are undetectable. Steve Forte and his smarter brother can not detect the marks even when they know the deck is marked and even when they know how it has been marked. The only way anyone can read the marks is with a restricted dedicated gizmo, which might be fitted in say a wristwatch, or maybe even a ring. Without the gizmo nothing or no one can detect the markings. Even with a similar gizmo the marks can not be detected! “Future” but might well be the present for all I know. Mark my words. It is the future of marked cards. Tommy

May I ask at what price?
you can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all the time but never all of the people all the time.

You can already buy an RFID marked deck for a couple of grand...I have not seen how good the cards are since the RFID chip must be placed in between the card. Unless the cards are manufactured that way, I suspect that maintaining the card's original feel and "snap" may be tricky....But, since I have not seen one of these deck..I don't know and am just guessing!
Anyone know ?

They can now make RFID chips that can fit inside a dollar bill. They are about 1/6 the size of a grain of salt and I am sure sometime in the future they could be used to help secure american currency

You are correct....the problem is not the RFID chip...it is the antenna. I saw about 6 months ago an RFID chip they plan on putting in the Euro. The good news was that the chip was so small, it was virtually indetectable and felt smooth to the touch.
The bad news was that they did this by eliminating the antenna, which meant that the currncy had to make direct contact with the reader and there was no real range. I am sure the technology will get there in a few years..... I suspect the RFID cards use a thin, flexable antenna to get some range when reading the cards/marks.

Is the gizmo coming straight out from the Hollywood's special FX department? *laugh
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not, none will suffice.

Tommy,
Very cool technology....I will have to call Kodak and find out more information.... Distance may be an issue since the reader seems to need to be VERY close to object? It is also not clear to me if it can be used to isolate at least 13 different values ? Verry interesting to ponder!
