Just wondering if anyone knows what type of rope Tabary uses for his rope routine. I use Elite 10mm which is flat, but from what I can see (and I may be wrong) he uses very soft round rope.
Thanks, Harv |

I have used the flat rope and it does not work very well. I have used rope I got from a local magic dealer made buy Fun Inc. and it looks and works very well. It is very soft and bright white, has a cotton core which I leave in and use Elmer's glue on the ends to keep it from fraying and unraveling.

I'm new to magic, but not to rope (or line as we call in on the boat.)
Any braided rope with the core removed will flatten, but if you roll it between your fingers and work with it, you can round it out again. I tried the foam core type of rope and it works with Tabary's routine. From a distance it looks okay, but close up, it really doesn't look like regular braided rope, more like it has a knitted cover, and the core is black. Since I have smaller hands, I stick with the cored rope which compresses easier and I round it as needed. (Usually when I wash it.) Fay |

I just received 10mm Elite rope from Camirand Academy and it is a bit flat from packaging. A little work with the hands and it rounds out nicely. I bought it specifically for Tabary as well and it is working much better than the cheaper flat rope I had been using.

The three ropes suitable for this kind of magic trick is Elite, Fun, and Daryl.

It definitely is not as thick as the Tabary rope. I'm going to try the Camirand elite rope next. What were you're results with the Daryl thick rope??? Thanks, Howard

Hi Howard
I use Daryl's rope for PNM/fiber optics, Aldo's ring and rope routine, and it is absolutely the perfect rope for throwing knots. For "acrobatic rope", "knotty knot", "krazy knot" and an unmaned trick only I do that I had Pavel custom make for me. Finally for "cut and restore" I use big lot's clothes line, a fine soft, 7/32" diameter, cotton core rope they sell for $3 a hundred foot. As you can see I'm a bit of a rope trick nut. I love Daryl's rope for The Great White Rope Routine! It just feels so great to work with.
For C&Rs, I'm still looking.

I've been using flat ropes since I started rope magic.... had no problems withit whatsoever.
What do you mean by it doesn't really work? I am really curious |

You can make any rope work....Some ropes just make the work easier.... ..
