Which is better Jason Alfrod's Twixter or NFW by Gary Freed? I have the Twixter explnation which I am reading from Magic Magazine and it reads great. Does anyone know if Twixter is a worker in real situation performing or simply a nice theory trick? I think one would have trouble with switching the cards out and getting the "gimmick cards" in Twixter to work just right..does NFW eliminte this? Thank you for your help.

Don't know twixter---NFW is one of my favorites, gets great reactions, is a great opener, very easy, and packs small.
Life is a test. It is only a test. If this had been a real life, you would have been given further instructions on where to go, and what to do.

Nfw is normally with gimmicked cards too, but it is also possible to do nfw totally ungimmicked. great effect. I have never heard of twixter before.

I don't see why Twixter would be any less "workable" than NFW. It's in Jason's booklet "Thinking & Wondering" and it's quite good (along with a lot of the material in that booklet). Requires more skill than NFW, but it's a very nice trick. The main difference (someone correct me if I am wrong, as I haven't worked with it in a while), is that with Twixter you can show the front and back of all the cards, instead of having one card face down from the start.

I'm dusting off brain cells to recall this, so if I've made an error, someone help me out, please.

I don't know twixter, but I can tell you that the best twisting effect I know is probably hordcore packet from the sankey/sanders sessions.

It has the saqme effect, but its gaffless, so you don't have to worry about switching them in and out of the pack or anything like that.

Both of these effects require gaffed cards and "something extra" that you can find around the home.

NFW can be done so that all four Jokers can be seen face up at the start, unlike described in the instructions. It just requires some specific handling changes and an additional card.

Jason Alford's Twixter is an awesome effect, that is similar in method to Gary Freed's NFW. Twixter appeared in MAGIC Magazine, in February of 1999. I prefer Twixter because both sides of the cards can be shown at the beginning and at the end, unlike NFW. Neil Lester supplied the cards for me for this effect.

I'm not familiar with Twixter, but NFW is very powerful. Requires some skill and a gimmick, if that helps for comparison purposes.
