Jarod,
Yes, the new book is 70 pages. I will mention the page count thing to Jim and see if we can't do something about that. Thanks for your input. Richard |

70 pages long should be considered IMHO as a booklet and not a book. What also is important is what spacing between lines and words exists because I have bought 60 pages long booklets that I managed to read in 30 minutes or so...

Then I plan to review the other 2 bookLET's "More Inner Secrets" and "Further Inner Secrets." There is no excessive spacing in "Mind Mystery Guidebook" and no illustrations, so the 70+ pages are all informational. Richard |

Seventy pages is actually typical for an e-book. Also, specialized monographs in the sciences are bound as books but often run under 100 pages. Like those specialized monographs, this is a book to study, not to read. If you think you would spend less than half an hour reviewing the performance of and reading Richard's commentary on the first effect (Bank Night), don't waste your money.

70 Pages is a booklet?? Does it really matter?? I would rather read a booklet of 5 pages rather than a book of 500 pages as long as it had value in one way or another..
Not read this but sound like an interesting idea.. Covering stage craft and presentation is hugely needed as most think you buy the trick and your a mind reader.. A.R.

Will these books be printable?
It's my intention to buy the volumes, then print into hard copy then comb bind them, for use with the DVD. Like a study guide. |

I've never really given much thought to where the dividing line between a booklet and a book might be. As for the Osterlind books/booklets, I've used the two terms interchangably. I suppose that if something is squarebound, it's inarguably a book; if it's saddle-stapled, one could argue either way.
It's really a moot point. In these cases, I've found Richard manages to squeeze in twice as much (at least) information as the page count would indicate. And the book(let)s really aren't going to be much use to anyone who feels they're overpriced. They're of use only to someone who invests time, effort, and practice. In that respect, the book(let)s are interactive. And now I can't stop chuckling at how long L.G. and D.V. got away with putting out booklets with hard covers. And that Banachek fellow did the same thing!

Call it whatever you want; call it a book, call it a booklet, or you can even call it a personal letter from Richard, and it all ends up the same. It is a high quality compilation of insights, explanations, background, and performing information relating to the Act on MM 1.
I also agree with mormonyoyoman that there is less fluff and filler in this book than in most books I see these days that are half the size. As soon as I got it, I printed it out. No problems. And as Mindguy suggested he intended to do, and Richard confirmed, it truly does work side by side with the DVD as a Study guide. And the borders on an 8 1/2 X 11 Printed page allow for plenty of notes.

Is MIRACLE THOUGHT PROJECTION the effect where you lay a card on the table and the spectator names it?

Yes
('nuff said) Sincerely, Matt P.S. If you perform any of the effects of MM1, this (e-)book(let) (whatever) is an absolute must. but I hope the reviews by Chet and Sven have already convinced you as well.

But we've strayed from the original topic, which is to speculate on what Richard Osterlind's next project is. I'm sticking with my original prediction of a refridgerator repair manual, followed by a DVD guide which explains the thinking behind the manual.
