I'm sure I've spent that much, but never in one week!! They must be paying those Devil Dogs more these days than I ever made!!

Take me with you.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

Oh, and yes, I am a magi-holic. I've spent about $500 on cards alone in the last month. I need help. Shane Wiker |

I thought a book that I paid $45 for was over the top lol!! Maybe you should get into mentalism..I don't think I've spent more than 20 bucks at Office Depot at one time.

Lady-J I think I just fell in love with you and your props.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed. - Einstein

Hi Lady-J,
I used to spend a fair bit on magic but over the years found a lot of effects gathered dust on shelves as they didn't particularly fit my act or my persona. It's so easy to get caught up in all that great stuff out there when attending a convention, lecture or a new magic shop. Books, however are forever!! Nowadays, I spend most of my cash on my numerous pets and think nothing of paying a grand for a vet bill but wouldn't spend it on myself! Dunno what caused the turnaround probably the sad eyes factor! :O) Shoes still temp me however..a girl can't have enough pairs of shoes I'm thinking. Enjoy all your purchases, sounds as if you're going to be busy for awhile!! |

I have CONTROL.
Tho I wouldn't mind 2000 AT ALL. If the effect is something I want, then YAH I won't hesitate to pull out the dough NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT IS. Thankfully I do street magic so OFTEN I don't have to spend much. I am a shopaholic, for OTHER things that is...... CLOTHES. |

Magic can get expensive. I have recently spent a countless amount of dollars on a routine I am developing for my stage act. I already had some things I will use in it, and I built 2 props myself, yet I have still spent a lot of dough. The routine is about 3 1/2 minutes long. I would hate to know the dollar amount per minute (or second) it has costed me to create this routine.

Michael,
There is this trick with a shoe where you show up at a pretty girl's house with just one glass shoe that fits her... (Never mind. It's been done before. Besides you have to be a prince and have a castle.) Lady-J, I have had that buying experience. I've had Lucy buy props $1000-1200 each that she never used. But still I Love Lucy! For Valentine's I gave her a circus ring for rehearsing her circus trained horse. It's one of her three live unicorns. She just needed it like her new 36' x 48' barn. Ladies simply have a shopping gene that has to be satisfied. Enjoy, Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

I am surprised magic shop owners or dealers did not come into this thread to promote their wares!!
sorry for the side track. I have spend way more than that amount, but within a week is a bit extensive for my pockets
