I am trying to obtain a copy of Abbott's Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks and need to bibliographic information. Can anyone give me the complete title, author, publisher (pre-Dover edition if possible), year, and , if possible, the ISBN?

Abbott's Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks (compiled by Stewart James) was published by Abbott's Magic Novelty Company, Colon Michigan back in a time when no ISBN number was sought for magic publications. It doesn't even have a year showing in the front pages. It actually consists of just one volume of what went on to become a three volume set.

The way to buy it today is to get the Stewart James' Encyclopedia of Rope Tricks, published by Squash Publishing, Chicago, IL, in the year 2005, ISBN number 0-9744681-3-4. This contains all three volumes of the original Abbott's work, plus additional stuff added by Stewart James. Squash Publications has a web site: http://www2.squashpublications.com:8080/
