Our very own Café' member Tom Wolf has an article in the March Issue of Genii Magazine ....Page 31. >> The Blink Shift <<
The Blink Shift is a one handed shift. Tom has finally released his details regarding this Absolutely Fantastic move after many decades. Tom explains how to cut a deck of cards with one hand. In mid air!!! The "Amazing" think about the Blink Shift is that Tom himself can execute this move in less than a single second, making him presently (through lengthy research) "The fastest in the world." I would never have believed this unless I saw it with my own eyes .. I had the pleasure to be one of the "select few"...along with Bill Malone, Jon Racherbaumer, Neil Foster and Ed Marlo... To have actually witnessed "The Blink Shift." I personally believe this to be one of the most "incredible card sleights" that has ever been created. I'm more than possitive most would agree! ....But then again, seeing is believing!!! The underground legend" Tom Wolf is not only an "outstanding card expert"... but he is also my very good friend (who I am extremely proud of) and one hell of a magic teacher... with many more "original creative" tricks up his sleeve!!! Thanks for sharing Tom .... You're the best!!! MICKEY SILVER |

Can't wait to catch it. Even if I never use it, it's still a joy to see someone bringing a little of themseleves creatively to the table. Oh and Mickey, if I ever come up with something brilliant I would love for you to be my PR man...when you share something along the lines of "magic knowledge" it typically sounds like it's the best and possibly one of the most amazing things ever

Thanks Canaday and my good friend Vinny for the nice comments.
I have not seen the write up on my shift as yet. Maybe some one could scan and email it to me. If the write up is correct, study the grip and you will find out that it can be done On the table in 2 different "straddle grips". Eddie Marlo gave me that name to call the grip years ago. You will have to trust me on this, it can be done so fast that it cannot be seen. This would be done as the deck is cut into two halves and the hand picks up the previous lower packet to place in on top of the previous upper. Using that "straddle grip", as the deck is move to the dealing hand, the packets are restored. Using both hands in this grip, you can do a extremely fast color change. Enjoy because I have much more to share. Tom Wolf

Genii just arrived today. This move looks like a winner. I'd love to see a video of someone doing it.

For those who offered to send me a scanned copy of the Genii magazine with my article, Richard just sent me two copies.
I shall study the article and will comment later. After studying the article in Genii, I noticed an error. Upon picking the bottom portion, place it Immediately in Straddle Grip and not in Biddle Grip. There is a world of difference in the technique. The write up is done well. It is a most impossible job to teach it without video. All those who want to see a demo of it, send me your emails. The small video that will be sent you via Windows Media will the the one that I made for Bill Malone. The reason I called it the Blink Shift, is if you blink you will miss it. Tom Wolf

^ Well, I've just seen the demo video of Tom's Blink Shift and think it's a beautiful move (probably helped by the fact that Tom performs it brilliantly of course!). I really like it, thanks Tom! It is certainly worthy of some practice time.
Tom, I presume you are familiar with the third method for restoring the cut in Buckley's Card Control (p.109)? I've used it many times. Buckley calls it, "as near to being an indetectable shift as it is probably possible to make one." It is also done one handed.

Yes I am familiar with Buckleys.
I have tried all that I could learn years ago before creating mine. In fact, I have two versions in which the packets are restored On the table in closing. These are Completely different than anything published before. Even after all these years, nothing comes close. They where not created for magic, believe it or not. lol. Tom Wolf

Only if you Always pick up the packets the same way.
Things where different in Havana years ago. The casinos ruled.

Just got the video from tom. Great stuff. I have always liked visual card magic and this definitely qualifies. I plan on picking up Genii this week. It will occupy an honored spot in my collection.

Thank you Jim for the nice comments.
I really need some one now to help me with the release of my original magic. I do not know how to create a web page where the video demos could be posted. Help.... Tom
