Ok, question/ rant for your commentary and two cents.
Preamble- In my olden days- I started out like most kids- Buy tricks, learn tricks, buy more tricks. Eventually I got in to mentalism, then psychic entertainment, then bizarre magick- and after that I found my "traditional" magic got 50 times better because incorporated what I learned from bizarre magic and psychic entertainment into my traditional magic performances. Then, I got burnt out and hid for 15 years.... During that 15 years, I focused on hypnosis, linguistics and NLP, etc- not as theatre bust as therapeutic interventions. So, Here I am back in the magic scene... and excited that this forum exists as when I went underground, there was no such forum besides the pen pals I had all over the magic world. I find myself gravitating toward the bizarre and mentalists forums as they interest me more- and this story forum seems like a good match too. Chapter One: The point- well, with my background in hypnosis and NLP- I use a lot of therapeutic metaphors and such. In general, those stories are used to get the "other than conscious" mind processing on some level or another. Have any of you purposely structured the language, model or structure of your stories using NLP to try and sollicit a response in your audience from the INSIDE out? Intentionally I mean. Of course EVERY story does this- What I am curious about is do any of you do this intentionally, and if so, could you share your PROCESS for constructing such plots? Do you begin with an emotion or a state of mind/body and work from there? Do you use any anchoring (gestures, words or tones of voice connected to states) to take your audience from place to place? Ideas? Discussion? Questions?
Leaping Lizards!!! Who knew it was possible.

Eliciting seems safer than soliciting.
