Alg man, my picks would have to be Gardner and Lennart Green. I've never seen Gardner perform (are there any such performances recorded?) but Green's stuff kills me!

I think you can include Simon Aronson's card work as some of the most cunningly disguised usable math based effects around.

Harry Lorayne, certainly.

Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

Joyal is very good.

Martin Gardner never preformed in his life (exept one time he demonstrated magic tricks in toy store when he was a student)

I don't think Lennart Green is a Math-Magician and Harry lorayne mostly do memory feats (like the great Simon Aronson)

Stewert James did some great things with math if you have time to go thru all of his work(2700 pages!!)

And I must mention Mel Stover(Genni magazine september 1999 page 28-31)

Have fun

I'm not sure who the "you" refers to in Harry Lorayne's second sentence
quoted above.

MATHEMATICAL WIZARDRY is a good book for the newbies interested in mathematical effects. But it's only fair to point out to "Magical equations" regulars
that there's not much new in this book.

The well-read amongst us will be disappointed if they shell out the do-re-mi
for this book. But for those who haven't already devoured the classics of
recreational math, you'll probably find it worth the price.

(I hesitated to share this opinion...but I'm tired of purchasing books
based on over-zealous recommendations from other Café members. Book
recommendations are useless if they're not honest. In the case of this
book, I thought the ad copy was very honest. Careful reading of the
ad convinced me that this book wasn't for me. Having finally seen a
copy, I see that I was right.)
