I tried getting around signing things with a sharpie..
Using a pen I thought would be more beneficial..There are routines or special pens that can be used..so it serves as more then one purpose After using a sharpie for a signed coin routine (which you cant do with a pen) I realized how powerful a signature in thick blank ink can be.. I know it isn't that strange to carry a black sharpie on you..but are there other effects or routines I can use it for? |

If you buy a Super Sharpie, you can just use it as a regular sharpie signing things, then when you actually use it as a swami, no-one will suspect it's gimmicked.
For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not, none will suffice.

Will the ink run out?

You could do 'Coin to Pen Cap'.
Finger ring on wand with the Sharpie instead. Rising finger ring on Sharpie w/ IT. Impromptu pen thru dollar bill. It may mark a bit though. Vinny's (The Godfather) effect with a pen and elastic band. "Liquid"?? |

Not on the swami, no. It inks from the sharpie itself. The sharpie dries out about as soon as a regular sharpie, but on the video CD it tells you how to change the ink.

I'll put a vote in for Coin in Sharpie cap also. Very cool. I forget who I saw lecture on it, but it's a great routine to do with a Sharpie.
I am a big proponent of having EVERY card selected signed. Some performers don't like that you get a deck full of signitures, but I found that folks were interested in the fact that the deck had other names, etc. I once used a deck until almost every card had 2-3 names on it just to see what would happen. The deck itself stayed fairly nice and clean because I only used it when performing. It actually got a lot of positive comment. Best,

Jaz I wasnt clear..
I was originally looking for multiple uses of the sharpie.. after looking into the ss and seeing it can be used as an ordinary sharpie AND a s*a** I think I'll give it a try |

It's also more-or-less examinable. A thorough inspection could give it away, but a cursory look over will reveil nothing.

I've performed the Super Sharpie numerous times and no one has asked to examine the pen. I Usually have someone sign the pad I'll be using to make my prediction to prove that I haven't switched pages on them. They use the Sharpie with the cap on the end so there's no chance they'll find the gaffe.
Putting the pen on a table of above your ear when making your prediction also draws attention from the pen. How could it be involved if you're not even holding it when you reveal the prediction. Good luck! |

There's also the Card Sharpie and Sharpie Sense; both are custom printed sharpies which can be used to reveal a selected card (or other mental effects for Sharpie Sense).

Yeah, the cardsharpie has three revelations on it, though only one is convincing and works a hundred perdent of the time.

There is an awesome method for using red sharpie for living and dead test. PM me and I'll fill ya in.
Do the improptu effect "ear it is" from Tarbell 7. Do a hand writing analysis based pseudo psychometry routine using thick index cards. Do a color prediction with multiple sharpies eacha different color. Make a duplicate Sharpie ala Pen through anything. Do an effect where a signature is pulled off of a card and becomes a thin black vinyl line. Ok..... There's a few off the top of my head. Any help?

The effect I most often do with a Sharpie is a bill in sharpie. Basically I cause a signed bill to appear inside the sharpie as if it where a bill tube.
I have this is my lecture notes but most people don't realize you can take a sharpie apart. With the cap on just bend the top (black section) back and forth a couple of times and you'll feel it unlock. Then just pull the top off. You can do it without the cap on but the cap will protect you from getting black fingers. You can make anything you want appear inside the sharpie. Another fun one is salt. Ron Jaxon |
