Hi, I am a total noob. I really want to get into hypnosis, but I don't know where to start. Do I need a mentor? What should I put my money towards?
Fill me in on how you guys started out! |

If you can find someone to teach you that in person that would be great. If not then go with a study course (there are cheap and not cheap ways to go - pm me if interested). Best of luck. |

Hypnosis is NOT something you should just read a book about and try. It is something that should be given serious study and years of work whether or not you wish to do clinical hypnosis or stage hypnosis. It is not like reading a trick and then trying it out. And if you thought that mentalism was difficult to perform, hypnosis is even more difficult to perform in an entertaining manner.

Gotta disagree with this: It is something that should be given serious study and years of work whether or not you wish to do clinical hypnosis or stage hypnosis.
I know of people who are self taught with a book or an at home course and they are making good money doing hypnosis. Take some time to learn hypnosis correctly - but it should take weeks, months at the most, not years. |

To learn it yes, to learn magic could take 3 months, but to master it, that takes years, just like magic. |

Well OK, I mean I have been into magic for ONLY 2 years! You'd think I was a total noob, well I gotta tell ya, a lot of guys I know who have been doig it for more than that, 6 years, even their whole life, and they still don't reach te standard that I'm at (not to be arrogant). With enough dedication and determination, you can master anything pretty quickly. But experience always takes an infinite amount of time right? So yeah, obviously hypnosis is something that shouldn't be treated lightly...
Now I need a mentor...did any of you find your mentors were good? |

Will supply all the support from training to marketing you will ever need. The forum will supply all the peer support and encouragement you will ever need also. If you study what successful people do and say and repeat the same process on the stage yourself you will result in the same success pattern that you learned. Martin ![]()

Please tell me how these training sessions work...I would love to hear anybody's experience on this and how they got to be so good from training. What was it like? Tell me everything before I realise I've wasted my money on something that can't happen cause I'm in england!

By the way guys I am 16 years old and I don't look any older. Does this mean I have to wait until I am an 'adult' before I can be a hypnotist????????

Despite one's knowledge and experience it is very hard to convince an audience that you can read.control minds at your age. I sypmathise as I am sure many others who remember their abilities at 16, but IMHO it would be best for you to continue to hone your skills and keep studying so that you will be the very best when it is ready for you,

IMHO=In My Humble Opinion.
As I have posted ad nauseam (to the point of nausea) on the topic of getting proper training as both a therapist and a stage hypnotist, I'd suggest that you do a quick search of the archives in here for some of that material, my young friend. Safety first if the PRIMARY rule, equal with ENTERTAIN YOUR AUDIENCE when working as a stage hypnotist, or as any other kind of entertainer, for that matter. And, to be honest, no insurance company will insure a 16 year-old stage hypnotist, to the best of my knowledge and performing without liability insurance these days is tantamount to professional suicide. All it takes is one slip-and-fall incident on stage and your financial future is shot forever. I've seen it happen. Lee Darrow, C.H.

HAHAHA! FUN! Thank you very much Mr. Darrow, but how do they insure you? If you end up making somebody believe that there are fairies running around sprying pixie dust all over the floor and you can't stop the person from believeing it, then what?!
Does the insurance company wave their magic wand? |
