I realize "new" is a bit of a misnomer. L&L Publishing is releasing a series of DVD's at a $20 price, each on one aspect of magic, with varying performers. I am sure this is not news to anyone. Each DVD is made up of routines from past dvd's, so the price reflects that. But for someone without a huge past library, this may be a huge boon. Of the first set, I wasn't too interested in 50 ways to do cigarette through quarter, but getting 6 rope routines on one DVD seemed a fantastic deal. I ordered it, and it's on the way.

Any thoughts on this DVD?

Hey Rev
I have a large rope library, and as far as video is concerned Daryl's "expert rope magic" gives the most video bang for the buck, so if you still hunger for more rope stuff when you are done try his 3 DVD set.

Thanks for pointing out this new dvd from L&L.
I own 2 of the 3 rope dvd's from Daryl and plan on getting the 3rd soon.
I was planning on getting Richard Sanders Fiber Optics or possibly this new L&L dvd once Daryl's set is complete.

I have to say. I saw Daryl perform live at Gerry Griffins California Magic Dinner Theater in Martinez this Friday and his rope magic is impeccable.

Back to your original question...I think the new L&L DVD is a great additive to other resources like Tabary, Fiberoptics and Daryl's Expert Rope Magic.

Well if you are going to get back to the original question, I will agree that rope trick combo is a good place to start. I was just putting the cart before the horse.

RevLoveJoy,
I have this DVD called Professional Rope Magic that L&L just put out. Received it only a few days ago.
It is excellent and worth more than the $20. Also the Ring magic DVD is quite good.
I recommend them both.

For the people who just bought the Professional Rope Routines by L&L Publishing, I'm curious on how good the content is in L&L's free giveaway:
Greatest Collection of Magic Performances Ever Assembled on DVD -

Is this a DVD you would watch over and over again?

Fiber optics is the hottest thing there is in rope magic today, there are demo's of it everywhere, and the reason why people rave about it will be obvious, but I kinda think you should know at least a little basic rope magic first. For example if you don't know PN you are going to be at a large disadvantage.

I don't think you need to know PN to benefit from fiber optics because Sanders teaches it, with a better handling than you find in many books.
