I'm not entirely sure what you're asking...if you want, you can ask me in French and I can try and translate it here for you...

If I understand correctly, you're asking what material or effect we use when approaching a table?
I actually don't start right in with the magic. When I approach a table, I greet the guests and ask how their evening is going. I take a little time to get to know them and find out what brought them out to the restaurant. Often, the guests think I'm part of the management at the restaurant. Once the pleasantries have been established, I introduce myself as a magician hired by the restaurant to provide some added entertainment to their evening. It's at this stage that I pull a coin (or sponge ball) out of their ear. I ask if it would be o.k. if I borrowed this for a few minutes, and then I go right into a quick, visual coin routine. The actual routine depends on the demographics of the table. There are many different styles when approaching a table, but this is one that I have had a lot of good responses to. Hope that helps. I think he is talking about approaching a table to do magic.

Ya, I think so too. I am going to see patrick drake tonight to take some notes on restaraunt magic.

I make eye-contact, smile, and then ask who's got the best imagination; I'll typically then do my invisible deck routine. The other opener that gets a laugh is to produce a sponge bunny from someone's shirt and use the line "you had a hare on your shirt" For the rest, he indeed was asking about how to approach a table and mentions that he has used a flash cord for example. I'm not entirely sure what is meant by jeux de balle en mousse (ball game?...it may be the French way of saying cups and balls)

"Balle en mousse" = sponge balls.
I usually introduce myself as the magician too. In France, David Stone is an advocate of a mix of the "polite introduction" and the other approach which consist of producing somethging magic as a surprise. Kind of: "Er... sorry, does this wallet belong to somebody here?" People are very attentive now, a wallet in at stake... When nobody claims for it, he opens it saying that he'll look inside if he can find the owner's name, and boom, big flames are seen coming from the inside. "wow, I don't know who it is, but money seems to burn his hands!" (there's a better play-on-words in french.) And then, the contact is established, and he is recognized as a magician without having to ask for it (risking a polite "No!") But to answer the question, I introduce myself, and propose to show them something really crazy. Then, I usually begin with a coin flurry in order to go on with a coin across in their hand.
