Does anyone pass out printed tracts, at their gospel performances?

I saw an aluminum coin recently that was being left in stores and public places, and it looked pretty good.

I had also thought about handing out programs with some of the newer downloadable tracts and printing those on the back side of the program as a way to get them into everyones hands.

Any opinions?

I hand out Pennies that were stamped flat and imprinted with The Ten commandments. They actually resemble a flat football in shape, but they have all ten imprinted.

The Penny isn't real big, but it is bright and shiny and I have yet to have one refused when I offer it, as most people just look at it, admire it a moment, say thanks, and then ask; what is it? Smile

Then I tell them it is The Ten Commandments and ask if they can name any of the 10? Some can name a couple, but very few actually. And so I say, How about; Do not steal? And they usually nod, and I ask have you ever stolen anything? Usually after a feeble attempt to deny it, they will admit it. And I ask well then what does that make you? And once again they will look for a "softened" way to say it. But ultimately they have to admit that they are a theif. And I go on...

And usually after the third one, they have admitted to being a liar, a thief, and balsphemer or adulterer. They, themselves, admit these things. For the first time for many of them they actually think of them as Sin! And now, finally, they have a real clearly understood reason to need a savior. Their own sin is now before them.

I will hand the Pennies out before, after and sometimes even during a performance.

I buy them in bulk from Ray Comfort's Ministry and if you haven't heard "Hell's Best Kept Secret" yet, it will revolutionize how you witness!! If you want any info on the Pennies, or Ray Comfort, PM me.

Tracts are good, but a flattened Penny with The Ten Commandments takes them farther than any tract I have seen so far.

I hand out Jesus dollar bills from Doc Haley Magic. I first collect an "offering" using Miser's Dream and put the pail aside.

At the end of the show I talk about giving back to God what He has provided, and then have someone pour the "collection" coins into a C. Bag as a gift to God, and mention how he will return much more to you than you give to him.

Then I have someone else reach into the bag and take out a large stack of the Jesus dollars which are then given out to the audience.

Goes over very big with children, but I always get adults asking me if they may have a few extra bills to take home once they see the message on the bills.

I haven't seen the Doc Haley Dollar bills, but I have passed out a tract that looked like a dollar bill before. It is a great idea, because if you are a bit on the timid side, you can just fold one in half and drop it walking down the street. Believe me it isn't littering, someone usually picks them up pretty quick. That and the "Masters Card tracts, If you practice a bit, you can drop them face up 90% of the time. These master card look alikes get picked up every time also. People love them because of the novelty.
I haven't seen the dollar bill tract for a couple of years, I'll have to check out Doc Haley's Dollar bills, and the stamped Penny it sounds like a really great idea too.

Thanks,

Mike

Then go to the Ray Comfort link on the right side. Or if you are ready to think about what you believe and why; click on the are you good button in the middle of the page..

But put on your seat belt, and get ready to be rocked! The site takes a lot of the same strategy that Brother Ray Comfort takes in evangelism. It is direct and life changing. I don't think you need it, but you can quickly see the impact it can have on folks who just haven't figured it out yet.

I just found the Pennies, so below is the direct link to them, but there is an incredible assortment of other unconventional tracts, and all kinds of things including what I will call paper money "messengers". So be sure you look around. It has been awhile since I was there last and they have a ton of new stuff I will be ordering right away!

Raycomfort.com

Ray also uses a bit of Magic in his ministry; Long and Short, Professor's nightmare, etc. I was introduced to his ministry by a KIWI (New Zealander) evangelist that I had the pleasure of working with briefly as he preached his way across the US. I was truly blessed to share a glimpse of the vision of that "20 something envangelist" and although I wasn't convinced that he was anything more than overly enthusiatic when he said that "Ray Comfort would change the way you evangelize." I soon learned that he was absolutely right!!!

And in a thinly veiled attempt to keep this topic Magic oriented; let me say that he has the short and long effect for sale on his site, and probably has other magic items/effects there are well.

Wow! Thanks. It looks like Ray has all the stuff I was looking for!

And you are right, that's one long presentation.

The wallets look pretty interesting. Maybe some sort of effect then leave "your wallet"
behind?

Thanks Again,

Mike

Wow, thanks for the reminder... I remember when Ray Comfort visited our church years ago and I had some of his find the f's and other stuff. It has been a long time and I would like to get some of his stuff again.

I got the Wallets, Pennys and Penny cards, a 100 of each and a mixed 85 sample pack. There was a free CD or tape with the order so I checked the CD.

I will probably get some of the books by the case later on.

Thanks again,

Mike

I do a lot of ballooning, I have found a few tracts, like the Veggie tales and Whinnie the poo knock off, where I could make the charcters out of balloons and tell the tract story.

I would give the balloons out with the tracts to kids and give the adults the tracts as well.

It works really well.

Howdy-
I hand out standard tracts and at programs like crusades and outreaches I even hand out Bibles. I think it is a fabulous idea.

I did an outreach show of sorts for an Asian Expo for a Chinese speaking Christian Church (though I don't speak Chinese) and they provided me with these great silver dollar sized aluminum coins that had John 3:16 on one side and other Scriptures on the other.

After the show, I gathered the kids and adults around telling them I would teach them 1 cool trick. Then I gave everyone one coin each. I then taught everyone a very, very simple coin vanish and had made everyone do it together. I then had a couple of folks come up and demonstrate their vanish.

They then took the coins home with them. We gave away over 500 coins that day. Other Church members handed out invitations to their church and other tracts in the back.

God Bless.

I just got an order of tracts from raycomfort.com, and they are excellent! Very inexpensive as well, and the tracts work very well with my style of presentation, so I can be very comfortable sharing my faith with people using these tracts. Very quick shipment, too. Thanks for the link!

Just visited the www.raycomfort.com site and bought a bunch of tracts to give out. Some really lend to the illusionist and some are just plain, direct messages!

Well, so far I have gone through several hundred of Ray's tracts. I have ordered the 1 of each package as well, but as far as getting them in people's hands, the two winners are the ones that I ordered first.

The Ten Commandments Penny/and card set.
I flatten the Pennies and use double stick tape to put them on the cards. Easy to hand out to Christians that you want to give a unique small gift, and easy to give to non- Christians since it is very unique but still very recognizable.

The all time winner for all of the tracts is: The Wallet. In the first 200 that I left laying around, all were picked up in about a half hour except one.

I estimate this at about 99.5% effective on the first drop. 100% within an hour's time in a place like a Mall or grocery/department store.

According to the parable of the sower, a remarkable return on the very small investment.

P.S. The wallet can also be used for any card to wallet effect where a duplicate is forced.
Bending the two bills apart will allow a pass to wallet, too (and they get to examine and keep the wallet).Smile

Check out some of Ray Comfort's tracts, he likes illusions and uses them in some of his tracts. I passed some out to kids in a school in Mexico, and we didn't have enough to go around. Everyone wanted a tract; it was really neat. Any way you can see what he makes at: Living Waters.

I just reordered Pennies. I am almost out, and I have come up with a routine that
"transforms" a regular Penney into the Ten Commandments Penney.

A regular ordinary Penny is shown on the outstretched fingers of the performer's right hand. The spectator is asked to take it and look it over. They take it, look at it and the performer talks about the little value of it. After the spectator has finished looking at it, the performer asks the spectator to place it back in the performer's still outstreched palm up hand, and does so. The performer closes his hand, and talks about something of great wealth. And there is a bit more patter, but the performer starts to squeeze his hand around the Penney, and even presses his hand more tightly around the Penney with the other hand too.

Then the performer opens his hand, the only thing in the hand is a flattened Penney with the Ten Commandments on it.

It has enough dialogue about the Penney being pretty worthless, and transforming into something of value. And other "clever" dialogue, that always gets a laugh. Then when you get to the revelation of the Ten Commandments, you have the spectator's attention and can talk about the commandments, and how we can't keep them, and about Salvation through Jesus Christ.

I am going to show this one at the Ohio FCM in Columbus Ohio this weekend. And I am almost out of Pennies, so I hope my order gets here before I leave.

Sounds great! Will you PM the method to other Penny distributors or is this a marketable with Pennys and instructions type of effect?
