Hello Christopher,
I don't know which deal John Bowlin saw from but the link Ray gave was for $549 with speaker stands: http://www.aabaca.com/stagepas300.html I don't know anything about them. Just repeating the link. Michael |

Yep, that's the link. Add $50 for shipping. Service was fast, had equipment in 3 days. The stands are the exact ones you see in the pic and are very solid. Could easily hold speakers 2-3 times the weight.

Here's a question....
Is it possible to use the Stagepas 300 with smaller speakers for a smaller gig? Has anyone done this? Comments?

Frank,
I don't see why not. As long as the ohms on each set of speakers are the same, and the smaller speakers will handle the power from the Stagepass, it should be fine.

That's what I'm thinking. The other thread where the guy was looking for a cheapo system got me thinking that this PA could be a great choice.
And you could just bring one speaker, I suppose. I'll bet those speakers are 8 ohms. What do you think? Anyone know?

Actually, it states that the amp rating is 150W per channel @6 ohm's resistance. Here is a basic tutorial on ohms concerning speaker use....
http://www.marktaw.com/recording/Electro......ers.html In my opinion, as small and light as the stagepas 300 is, the best solution for a small venue is to just keep the volume down and or use one speaker. |

The truth is that I have tried and at least owned one of almist every system put out at some time or another. I am a PA nut and like trying them out. Sometimes I'll go to auctions and sell them if they did not suit my needs or turn around and sell them to other performers.
Which one do I like the best? I think the Yamaha has the sound of all of them. As far as easy to set up and lightweight, no doubt about it- I love the Portable Buddy! |

Just picked up the Yamaha Stagepass300, and I am more than pleased. Showed it to a singer/songwriter friend who hooked up to it and loved it. He said it was the best small system that he ever played through.
It has great volume with no discernable distortion, I got no feedback from my Shure microphone regardless of where I was in relation to the speakers. The amp/mixer attaches to the back of one speaker, and all of the cords can go in the back of the other speaker! Truly a powerful and portable system. No buyer's remorse here. |

Hi everyone,
Just did a school show using the Stagepass300. Man, that thing kicks butt! Any one wanting a PA should check it out. Ray |

Direct from the manufacturer, really detailed look at the Yamaha StagePas300 system:
http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Cont......,00.html The weight of the 2 speakers with mixer attached is listed as 18kg, which is roughly 39½ lbs for everything. http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Cont......,00.html As for exact size dimensions, I can't find my tape measure, but you can see in the photographs of it next to people approximately how big it is. Hope that helps. The Yamaha site has extremely good product information on it. Chris |
