There was someone on another forum (www.DanAndDave.com) who created his own playing cards using the graphic arts department of his school.
This seems very interesting, and I was wondering if anyone here had any experience printing playing cards and could point me in the right direction. BTW, my school has a very good graphic arts department, so I'm sure they would have most of the supplies needed to put together a decent deck of cards (Thought I'm not sure if you could create any type of finish for them). Thanks for any help, Shane Wiker |

The DVD "Versatile Monte" by Mark Allen describes how to make custom cards using blank cards (blank back or blank on both sides)from Bicycle, and an ink jet printer.

I haven't had much luck using an ink-jet (haven't seen Allen's DVD), but I have had some fun playing around with a product called "Custom Playing Cards." It's basically specialized sheets of decal material. Once you have a desired design laid out on computer you can bring the file to Kinkos and have them print from a color laser. Then you have to cut them out, and with a small bit of water they adhere nicely to blank cards. The quality is really quite good and surprisingly long-lasting. I can't say that I've produced an entire deck, but for a handful of gaffs it serves the purpose pretty well.
