The library and google are both your friends my friend. Two great places to get ideas. After reading up a bit your own mind will kick in and you will be able to write your own that will fit you like a glove so to speak.

(One man's trash is another man's treasure!) “You don’t want to change your mind? So you're happy with the mind you've got?” (Possibly followed by Bill Palmer’s “OK, then try not to lose it.” “Stand right there - just over the trap door.” "Have we ever met before? No? Then how do you know it's me?" http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=106 Thanks, Daniel |

You could always just blaze a new trail and write your own jokes, but I know, that's crazy talk. A staggering number of magicians invest so much time in their 'moves' I guess they take it for granted that their humor can be hack. Buck the trend and be the full package!

I'm not claiming I thought of this, I forget where I got it. you hand the spectator a deck and ask them to shuffle it, and then as soon as theyre about to start say "that's enough!" and snatch the deck back

Jersey..maybe you got it from david williamson..when he did the rocky racoon bit on the Magicians Macgian (or somethign like that) hosted by Harry Anderson.
He gave a ladyt the deck of cards..she barely even started to shuffle the deck before david pulled it awaysaying " that's enough..I'm not as good as the other guys" This was the funniest magic I've ever seen. |

Watch closely - the card will rise up through the deck like a salmon in the spring ... on Viagra! ... now THERE'S a nasty mental image... I apologize... I meant to say LEVITRA!

Jersey I think you will find that the handling of the shuffle you are talking about is most commonly used by The Amazing Johnathan, along with "Pick a card. No you were close it was this one here take this" and "Not only have I made your card magically rise to the top of the deck but I am changed it into the Queen of Diamonds" All of which I think are comical gold and I use regularly in between effects to release a bit of tension.
As for one liners this depending on your style this may come across cheeky or insulting so be careful, after you have finished your handling "Now cards are a lot like people they all have different quirks this deck in particular has a lisp so we may have to do a little deciphering into what your card its telling me about you" Turn over the top card "Ah I see its telling me that you love being on top of the DECK" instantly scorn the cards so suggesting such a foul thing about your spectator and apologize telling the spectator that the your deck is just frustrated as your partner has recently stopped helping you handle it. A little raw but once again its all about how you present it. Moyle

Enjoyed watching a Magician (Not sure who - maybe someone can help me out with this), it was on TV for one of the Magician's contests overseas (Remember that I am in South Africa). He handed the pack of cards to a spectator and tells them to Shuffle the cards as MUCH as they want, then turns to next spectator while pulling out another deck and says, "Because we will be using this deck of cards instead!"

Wolflock, funny bit you mentioned. Both used by Harry Anderson and Amazing Jonathan.
