Hello,
I just got my doves last week. How long do you think I should wait to start training them? They still seem to be a bit scared when I try to take them out of the cage or handle them. Thank You, Kevin |

Kevin, as long as you have given them a day or two to get used to their surroundings, then they should be fine. Are they eating and drinking - moving about?
They will be timid of you even if you leave them in there for two months before you handle them.. you have to let them get used to you. Handle them as much as possible - watch TV with them, set them on your hand or shoulder while on the computer. They might take off for a little while.. just let them fly around to tire them out - but try and make them land on your hand... take them into an empty room if you have to. Before you know it, your finger will be their safe place. Justin |

Justin,
Thanks for your advice. They are eating and drinking. I try to take them out everyday for exercise so that they get used to me. Thanks Again, Kevin |

Kevin,
Where are you? August 2006 is SEAM 2006 in Birmingham, Alabama. There will be Justin David, Dakota Rose and myself there to talk dove magic with you. Try to come to the convention. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

Hello Bob,
I live in California. I don't think that I would be able to go to Alabama for the convention as much as I wish I could. But thanks for letting me know about it. Thanks Again, Kevin |

Pick up a copy of Birds USA magizine. It and other bird magizines will help with your training and care of your birds. First and formost, love and care for your birds, handle them daily, talk to them, they will reward you later. There are also training videos that are available. Some very good ones too. Good luck.

Looks like I might be at SEAM as well so there'll be plenty of dove talk and advise for anyone attending.

Hey Dave, that's awesome!
Are you going to be vacationing down there? Or are you going down specifically for that purpose? |

Just going for the convention and meet a few more Café members. Still have to swing it financially but since I'm independantly wealthy I should be able to do it.

There she was, a dodgy old prune in a tiara, rushing at me waving a sword. Do all knights suffer this whilst being made?
